Sunday, January 23, 2011 was

tremendous for our Student Ministry

and Church. The names of almost 100
students were entrusted to church The Communicator
members for the specific purpose of
February 2011
prayer for one year. The response was
overwhelming from our church family. Our students
need constant prayer to make good choices, keep their
hope in Christ, courage for sharing their faith and
making their relationships with family and friends holy.
If you were one of those who still needs a name you can

names are added throughout the year we will assign
them to those on the list. I cannot wait to see how God
will work through this.

High School Summer Mission Trip
Charleston, SC
July 4-8, 2011 / COST $350.00
At MFuge students can roll up their sleeves and get
ready to jump into ministry. They will get the
opportunity to choose between Children’s Ministry,
Games & Rec., Social Ministry, Creative Ministry,
Painting and Construction. During the evenings they
will worship with the Joseph Christie Band and learn
biblical life principles from Youth Communicator
Sammy Clary. Housing and meals will be provided by
Charleston Southern University.
Our church does not have the benefit of a Student
Ministry budget this year which means this mission
will be fully funded by the students and their
fundraisers. Also, students like to wait until the last
minute to find out which friends are going. We do not
have that luxury this year. The deadline to sign up is
ABSOLUTE. MFuge requires a non-refundable $50
deposit by February 13th. We have No $ for
students to waiver in their decision. Bottom-line:
pray to see if God is calling you on this journey with
us. This will be an exercise of our faith and will. Let’s
back each other up and trust that God will place us in
this field of service this summer.
Middle School Reward Retreat
May 21-22, 2011 / COST: $114.00
Each year our Middle School students travel to Carowinds
for an awesome weekend of rides, thrills, Bible Study and
bonding experiences. Students (Grades 6-8) who attend
our Wednesday night Backdraft and/or Sunday morning
Fire Academy are eligible. See sign-up dates below. Get
the word out to your friends and be a part of this great
retreat.

ParentNet: PIZZA LUNCHEON
Sunday, February 13th 11:30 AM—12:30 PM
James and the Youth Committee invite our
students and families to join us for this Pizza
Luncheon. We will discuss upcoming events,
ministry needs and our response to ministering during
times of tight finances. We really need you here and hope
that you can make it. A donation will be taken to cover
the cost of the Pizza. The meeting will be brief so little
brothers and sisters are welcome :) We will meet in the
Fellowship Hall
ParentNet: Helping Teens Surf Technology Safely
Without Losing Them
Saturday, February 19, 10:00 am—Noon
Today's teens are living in an age where technology has
become a part of their social DNA. Parents fall along a
wide spectrum of what tech they allow their child to
participate in.
• Amy York has worked in the IT field for many years.
She sees this struggle everyday as an educator and a
parent.
• Light snacks will be provided.
• We will meet in The Firehouse (Youth Center)
