This is a grandparents Day song, I found on the internet. I don’t know where
it came from…but it’s great!

For Grandparents Day:

We have prepared a song to the tune of "Take Me Out To The Ballgame"....

Let's go see our grandparents.

Take us there for a while.
Mommy and Daddy both need a break.
We'll play games and we'll stay up real late
Oh we'd like to thank our grandparents for all the things that
they do.
So it's time to say you're the best and that WE LOVE YOU!
Here’s another song for Grandparents Day:

(Sung to "Take Me Out to the Ball Game")

Let's go see our grandparents.

Take us there for a while.
Mommy and Daddy both need a break.
We'll play games and we'll stay up real late.

Oh we want to thank our grandparents,

for all the things that they do.
For it's time...to...say you're the best
and that we love you!

(The last verse is said slower and louder with little more emphasis)
For it's time...to...say you're the best
and that weeeee loooove yooooou!

The grandparents always laugh at the "play games and stay up real late"
part. They seem to really enjoy it.

Have each student write a paragraph about “My

Grandparents are Special because…” Then have them read
them to the grandparents. Before that, choose or have
another teacher read them & choose a first, second & third
place winner.

You can have the students write invitations to the

grandparents…make sure that you have them write two so
they can give them to both sets and make sure the invitation
is for both grandparents. You can have cookies and punch or
sprite for a treat for the relatives. Let the students pass them
out.

You can also have a question and answer session with the
grandparents. Have the students make up the questions
ahead of time…when you were my age, what was your
favorite toy? What kinds of clothes did you wear? How much
was a hamburger or a Coke? Did you have a pet, and what
was the name of your pet? Five to ten questions will be
enough.
Here are some websites I’ve saved…not sure if they all work or not.

Lots of hugs and kisses,
Lots of patience, too,
Lots of time to listen --
That's what grandparents do!
Lots of smiles and pats,
TONS of "I LOVE YOU"!
That's what it takes to be
A special grandparent -- YOU!
