Common Core State Standards Initiative
 This site is a resource for parents who are interested in learning more about Common
Core Curriculum, which is taught in Clark County schools. It describes why
Common Core was created, why it is necessary, the standards of Common Core, and
frequently asked questions.
Next Generation Science Standards
 This site is an excellent resource for finding out the standards for each grade and age
group for science (by state). Each standard is listed with a description and grade
level.
CSN Degrees
 On this page, all of the degree and certificate programs are listed. There is also a
search bar to find something specific. When a degree or certificate is clicked, it takes
you to a page with a description of the degree, the requirements, and the curriculum.

2. Field Oberservations
 Identify the geographic region of where you live and want to be placed.
 Identify your preferred school by looking up the 3-digit CCSD School Location code
listed.
 Then, fill out the form to submit. Make sure to use your CSN email address!

3. CSN Library
 Find Books
o A search bar is located here to access all books and e-books in the CSN
library
 Browse Databases
o There is an alphabetized list of databases (141 databases) along with a
search bar.
 Find Articles
o A search bar is located here to access all articles located at CSN

4. Nevada Computer and Technology Standards


 The standards described in the Nevada Computer and Technology Standards are the
minimum requirements for each grade level in Nevada. The standards are a
framework meant to guide districts when creating their curriculum, which is to
expected to be based on state standards. The standards are to be taught by combining
multiple standards within a single lesson. This is meant to ensure that educators,
parents and students understand the connections between reading and writing in order
to enhance performance.
 Standard: “Create an original work using digital tools, including planning, research,
editing, and production.”

CCSD Web Resources

1. Resources
 Calendars- has staff and student calendar links located on this page, as well as
additional calendars with important dates,
 Schools—this has links to all information on schools and accountability reports.
 Infinite Campus- has links for students, teachers, and parents to access Infinite
Campus, which is the online grading/attendance system CCSD utilizes.

2. Employee Salary
 $41,863 (without benefits)

3. Employee Resources
 Alternative Routes to Licensure (ARL)- information and a video about the
ALTA program, which is a fast-track method to earning a teaching license.
 New Teachers- each section has information and a flyer for a kickoff program for
new teachers and other CCSD professionals.
 Vegas PBS- this is a link to the local PBS website, where teachers have many
resources available to them, including videos.

4. Students
 K-12 Student Code of Conduct- this is where the rules and regulations of what
is expected of the students can be found.
 Safe Voice- safe method of reporting bullying anonymously.
 School Reunion Information- this page lists information about upcoming CCSD
High School Reunions.

5. Resource for Parents/Students


 I would set up a class webpage where the parents and students can see everything
we have accomplished so far and also what is coming up. I would also provide a
page for parent chat and a different page for student chat. This way, we could all
work as a community to help one another out, when needed.
