Using The CSN Education Website

1. CSN Education Resources:

 Community Services Packet: The Community service packet is a project

assignment for EDU 280 and how your services can benefit in the community.

The project is worth 10% of your grade and a minimum of 10 hour of

community service either at a non-profit agency, private school (non-ccsd) or

an organized field trip that your instructor can organize with the whole class.

You need approval from the location, document approval from the instructor,

and you must log in your hours.

 CSN Library Resources: The CSN library resource has many helpful

resources for CSN students with finding a book, a film, finding articles, and if

you can’t find what you’re looking for. You can ask a librarian for help and

are available from 8am-10pm. The library also has resources on how to help

with a research paper, how to cite and have many helpful workshops &

events.

 Education Student Protocol: The document is a protocol document for CSN

students to observe, participate, and have the teaching experience in the Early

Childhood program that’s location at the CSN Cheyenne campus, which

preschool, kindergarten, and childcare programs.

2. CCSD Field Observation Link

 Step one: Locate the geographic region you reside with the map that’s

provided before filling out the field observation request database.

 Step two: Identify the 3-digit CCSD School location code, if you don’t know

the location code below there is a button to locate the 3-digit CCSD school

code. Do this before filling out the field observation placement request.

 Step three: Before submitting data information make sure that you correctly

identified the geographic region and 3-digit school location code. You MUST

enter your CSN email address.

4. Nevada Computer and Technology Standards: Is a document in which the state uses

to help the school districts in finding different curriculums for students and to meet

Nevada requirements. Each student is required to have a learning expectation for each

grade they enter.

Using CCSD Web Resources

1. CCSD Resources

 Student Transcript Request: Click on scroll to student transcripts. The page is

for former CCSD students, k-12 districts to get any school records and as well

school transcripts. There is a fee and take 10 days to process student records

and will be sent out electronically.

 School Bell Schedule: Go on the parents and under school information you

will find all CCSD school bell schedules from elementary to high school.

 Special Education Service Providers: This is a group of people that help

directly to their school community in Special Education. They provide

coaching and mentorship to special education staff, they can also attend to IEP

meeting to support school team members.

 Information for teachers: The page has more resources for teachers. What

benefits are available, they have a workers compensation booklet, what to do

if they get sick and what steps to take if you decide to be absent.

 Vegas PBS: Is a website for teachers that they can go for more educational

resources for their students. From, videos, movies, shows, and what’s going

on in the Las Vegas community.

 Nevada Department of Education: Is the website for students, teachers,

schools, and educators to provide support and comprehensive programs for

pre-k-12 in the state of Nevada.

4. Student Links

 Safe Voice: Is a page where you can report bulling in your school, friends at

risk of suicide or you can report school threats all anonymous. With trained

professionals who are available 24/7, it’s a place for students who can feel

safe for speaking up of what they see or dealing with at school.

 School Reunion Information: This page shows what High Schools are going

have their High School reunion with additional information provided.

 Student Scholarships: Is a page with many resources on how getting different

type of scholarships for students who are planning to go further with their

education after High School. Also, has information for financial aid resources.

5. Resource on the CCSD that you would provide:

 The resource that I would provide for my student’s parents would be Special

Education Service Providers because not many parents know their rights on

getting the right services for the child with special needs. And helping them

with this resource can make a difference not just in the student life but also the

parents.
