TASK 6: REVISING AND PUBLISHING

Snatch thefts is one of the most commonly reported crimes in Malaysia. Throughout the
year, this issue become rampant. Anyone regardless of age and gender may become the
victims of these snatch thieves. It also may happen anywhere whether around neighbourhood,
shopping malls or even in public areas. Thus, it is vital for individuals to know the steps that
should be taken to avoid these snatch thieves.

First, it is important for individuals to keep a low profile of themselves especially women.
You should avoid public displays of wealth when going outside of house. It is very dangerous in
fact that many people will always attracted to your things. For example, jewelleries should be
taken out especially women. Besides, do not carry large amount of cash in bag or handbag.
Nowadays, people make payment by credit card as it is much easier and safe rather than cash
itself.

Apart from that, people must walk in groups to avoid these snatch thieves especially
women. These snatch thieves usually targeted women walking alone. It is such give a big
chance for them if individual walking in a poorly lit street or narrow alleys. It is possible if there is
at least a man to accompany when individual going out at night. He might be father, relatives or
trusted friends. So, individuals should make friends and ask for accompany anywhere to ensure
that there will always friends who can protect and know if anything happened.

Not only that, people should be alert and aware of their surroundings. In fact, individuals
must walk against traffic when they are walking along the streets. It is important to ensure that
the thieves cannot attack or snatch from behind without notice. Besides, individuals must walk
on the sidewalk rather than walking on the street itself. It is more safe for the individuals as it is
the walking sides only. Thus, thieves on motorcycle cannot make it easy to snatch someone
there. At the same time, always keep a close eye on any moving vehicles, particularly
motorcycles with pillion riders. Usually, these thieves come in pairs or group to make the work
faster and easier. Thus, individuals must be always aware of surroundings when walking or
going out on the streets. 

As a conclusion, individuals should be careful as they step out of the house. Anything
may happened in seconds and without clues as there were always crimes happened in our
country. Please do not put a trust on any strangers whether they treated us nicely especially a
short period. These snatch thieves will able to do anything just to get money and wealth despite
they need to kill someone to get it. Therefore, people should have awareness of this issue and
knowledge to prevent it on ourselves.
