The City Of Tula

Tula is known as the birthplace of delicious gingerbread and the "samovar capital"
of Russia. It is located 185 km from Moscow. This is a calm and quiet town with
an ancient history – it is a year older than the capital (founded in 1146). Most of
the sightseeing sites are temples and monasteries.

Tula is famous for its pleasant climate – mild winters and mild summers. The
streets of the city are a real open-air Museum. Many old buildings of the XVIII-
XIX centuries have been preserved here. Tourists come here to look at the Tula
Kremlin – this is the oldest building in the city of Tula tea party " and other
monuments
Tula is generous with interesting monuments and sculptures. On Lenin square
flaunts "Tula gingerbread". The "delicious" symbol was immortalized in bronze
recently-in 2014. This is the largest gingerbread that can be found in the city – 2.5
meters in diameter.

Another interesting monument is dedicated to the Lefty. It is interesting that the

sculpture was made two decades ago, but all this time it was at the factory. Only in
2009, Lefty took his place near the Tula "Mashstroy". In his left hand – the
blacksmith's hammer, in the right-the same flea from the story. The monument was

Museum of gingerbread. In Tula, the gingerbread craft appeared long before the
samovar and Armory. The Museum will tell you about the history of production
and printing traditions from the XVII century. You can look at the old gingerbread
and enjoy freshly baked. The Museum has a brand store. On special days, guests
are pampered-they offer free gingerbread and tea.

The Museum is located on Oktyabrskaya street. It is open on weekdays from 9: 00

to 17: 00. When buying a ticket, each visitor is given a small brochure with a
detailed description of the exhibition. The collection occupies two halls. In
addition to the tour, guests are offered an informative film about the ancient
production of gingerbread.
