modernizing agriculture.

And Although the involvement of total population in agriculture has decreased the
agricultural contribution in economic growth has increased from 21.2% in 2075/76 to

The economic survey shows that production of cereal crops, cash crops, pulses, spices
and fruits shall increase by 2.9, 3.6, 5.8, 1.3 qnd 6.1% respectively. However
production of some crops such as vegetable crops, oils and industrial crops is expected

exceeded the budgeted production. Whereas as of falgun 2076, the production of
vegetables, sugarcane, milk and meat has not been been produced as expected.

SLIDE CHANGE

Now comparing the budget with some of the major contributors of increased agricultural
production , we see that focus on development of irrigation facility through sufficient
budget allocation on major irrigational projects has led to about 2,243 hectres of
additional land being provided with irrigation facility.

Similarly, budget talked about making agricultural loans more efficient to farmers , and
survey revealed that about 26.9 billion rupees had already been provided to farmers
through various banks and institutions.

Similarly, the government’s promise to ensure smooth availability of fertilizers to the

farmers has been kept as survey revealed that government has already stored enough
fertilizer to last throughout the fiscal year.
