Drinking water and Sanitation sector

- Rs. 43.46 billion was allocated for the drinking water and sanitation sector according to
the budget plan of FY 2019/20
- In the fiscal year 2076/77 up till Fagun period 508,220 additional populations benefited
from basic drinking water.
- Out of the total population only 7% are benefiting from the cleaning services period.
- Till 2015 only 15% have received high and medium quality drinking water services
whereas in the fiscal year of 2076/77 till Fagun, the same service has added 21% public
access to it.
- Due to the devastating earthquake on 2072, from more than 1300 drinking water project
till the fiscal year 2076/77 of Fagun the earthquake damaged sector of 508 drinking water
projects were reconstructed and restored, through the drinking water service 213,942
population were being benefited from.
- In 2076 till Ashar the drinking water beneficiary population reached was highest in
Gandaki Province with 90.9% and Karnali Province with the lowest having 85.2%.
- In the Fiscal Year 2077/76 till Fagun, the physical progress of Melamchi Drinking water
had been 94.1%.

5. Youth and sports

- Rs. 3.99 billion was allocated to the youth and sport sector according to the budget plan
of FY 2019/20
- To promote sport for healthy physical and psychological development of children and
youths, regular sporting competitions right from the community level, sportspersons’
coaching, capacity building and inspirational programmes were organised in
collaboration among the federal, provincial and local levels.
- Monthly allowance to the winners of international sports competitions and participants of
Olympic games
- To have a leadership role in a profession for the youth, a capacity development and
development in information reach related in various locations 585 youth entrepreneurship
and financial skill/knowledge training programmes are being provided.
