Law is the system of rules which a particular country or community recognizes as
regulating the actions of its members and which it may enforce by the imposition of penalties. Law is already a part of our life. As human as we are, we are governed by our own rules and regulations. But, why do we need law? Is it because what society dictates? Is it because law is a necessity or an obligation for the community to be at peace? They organized the relations between individuals and the society to make it clear what is right and wrong and what happens if someone breaks the rules. They are designed to ensure fairness, safety and respect for other people's right. Man is naturally good but an imperfect creature; his laws can be good but imperfect. He needs Order; thus, he needs law- Scholastics. I agree with the statement. Men are naturally good but imperfect. Men tend to do acts which are prohibited because of their personal reasons. Human beings are not perfect living also in an imperfect world. As human beings, we live with our own rules and regulations. All of our actions are governed by laws. The way we walk, we talk or we eat, they should be in compliance with our personal views. Every person needs law in order for them to be proper and perfect. Once we abide with the rules and regulations, we became perfect to the eyes of everyone. We are dictated with what the society wanted us to be through the laws of the land. We, men, are naturally good. We have the intention of being good and kind but sometimes, we are tempted to do actions which are not in accordance with being good. There are also laws who are beneficial to specific persons but sometimes, need revisions in order for these laws to be fair and just for everyone. I don’t agree with Jean Jacques Rousseau’s statement that man is naturally autonomous, he is naturally free. As a person who is a fan of quality time, I myself need another person who can support me in everything that I do. Men want to be independent and free but we can’t be. Men are not independent and free because we are governed or dictated with what the society wanted us to be. In this new generation, we can never be free because a lot of people will judge us or criticize us. Laws are important in our daily life. We need to abide by the law if we want to progress in our life. We are all humans and we are all equal. No one is greater or lower than anyone. The only thing that separates us how we treat each other. We can do good by understanding each other and following what law tells us.
