Summary:
The acute toxicity bioassay with lettuce seeds (Lactuca sativa L.) was
collected from the village El Placer farm, municipality of Tuquerres Nariño, in
a lot in which it had previously been cultivated and cultivated. It acts as
arracacha, corn and beans, for these crops are used different types of
pesticides and herbicides that contaminate the soil.
ace where the sample was taken when cultivated for different types of crops mentioned above, has been affected by the contamination of
and that pesticides or herbicides are used once a week to control weeds,
animals
and diseases in the crops, within the pesticides are the Roundup, Pirimicarb,
Endosulfan, cypermethrin among others; that affect the soil and its
properties.
RESULTS OBTAINED
After analyzing the results obtained in the bioassay carried out, it could be
observed that the lettuce seeds that were mounted with the contaminated
soil sample presented a dark brown color hue and the radicle of the plant was
burned, they had fungal content in some samples , there were also a lot of
seeds that did not germinate; with these results it is evident that the sample
is not suitable for cultivation and presents toxicity due to the large amount of
pesticides and herbicides used and the long time that the soil has been
exposed without any type of detoxification or treatment.
According to the results obtained, it was possible to observe how the soil and
its properties affect the contamination and how it can be inferred is in some
crop that wants to carry out the importance of being able to implement some
type of treatment that leads to the recovery of the resource.
CONCLUSIONS
• When concluding with our bioassay and analyzing the results and
germination percentages, it can be established that the soil from which the
sample was extracted is affected by the contamination caused by the use of
pesticides and herbicides, not only affecting the soil as a resource, but also
that they can affect the production of crops.
