BACKLASH MEASUREMENT
1. Place the parallel key section on the output shaft 2
of the gearbox in a vice. Then place a dial
indicator, 1, against the side of the input shaft, 2. 1
2. With the dial indicator set at zero, rotate the input
shaft, 2. The input shaft should only have a
backlash measurement of 0.051 - 0.102 mm
(0.002 - 0.004 in).

4. Once the correct backlash is achieved fill the
gearbox, 1, with SAE 80-90W gear oil. Fill until
gear oil starts to come out from the side oil level
hole, 2, of the gearbox.

Disassembly
1. Remove the parallel key, 1, from the spindle 5. Place the spindle housing, 4, in a vice, and then
