Social Equity
• It is a concept concerned with fairness of services,
programs and policies.
• It describes a theoretical circumstances or goal
where all people have an equal position, rank, or
importance.
• Individuals should be entitled to the resources of
the community so they can thrive without
compromising the whole community’s resources
that everyone depends on.
• The fair, just and equitable management of all institutions
serving the public directly or by contract, and the fair and
equitable distribution of public services, and
implementation of public policy, and the commitment to
promote fairness, justice, and equity in the formation of
public policy.
• the concept of social equity has been broadened to include
far more categories than race and gender, including sexual
and gender identity, economic status, physical and mental
disability, and more.
Economic Equity

• A distribution of assets resources and tax liability


among the people of the nation or society that is
considered fair and just.
• Is the concept of fairness in economics , particularly in
regard to taxation or welfare economics.
• Looks at the distribution of capital, goods and access
to services throughout an economy.
• Apportionment of resources or goods among the
people is fair.
Examples
• Providing extra classes to the students who is having a
hard time.
• Higher tax rates on wealthy people than lower
income earners.
• Spending on public goods in a way that it provides
equal opportunity for the entire society.
