Before this week’s readings, I was aware of the negative effects fast food has on our health.

Watching these videos do emphasize how heart disease is becoming more common in the US
and about early death in young adults. It is a nice reminder about how I need to stop eating fast
food regularly.
I tend to eat fast food because it is convenient for me and most of the time there’s coupons and
discounts through apps that make it even easier to get. To limit the amount of fast food I eat, I
might start focusing on going to the grocery store instead of a restaurant. Learning how to make
meals is probably the most important step I can take in eating healthier.
I think the CEO’s should be held responsible for their customer’s well-being. I think giant fast-
food restaurants should start finding out healthy options for the food that they make or start
getting their sources from local areas to have fresher products. Also, having healthier menu
options that appeal to their customers should be featured in ads.
My favorite fast-food establishment is Chipotle. There is no Chipotle in my local city and 2 in
my neighboring city. I think Chipotle is one of the “healthier” fast-food restaurants and are still
building new locations with only 2,622 locations right now. That said, I still think it speaks
poorly for cities like mine who do not have access to these better options and instead we have
about 3 McDonald’s per city. My local community has access to 8 different burger joints but
healthier fast-food alternatives.
Using the website and the section for Mexican fast food restaurants, I have put together for my
classmates a healthy Chipotle order: Order a bowl with chicken, no rice, no beans, guacamole,
fresh tomato salsa, and fajita veggies served on their super greens lettuce blend.
