Name of the Company: Goldwin Manufacturing Laboratories Corporation

Goldwin Manufacturing Laboratories Corporation was established on 1990 and started on

a partnership business and on 1994 it became a corporation that was lead by Edgar De
Guzman.

Goldwin Manufacturing Laboratories Corporation bills itself as the "Skin Care Products
Specialist". But there is another one that also captures what it does best: "Bringing Marikina
made soaps to the rest of the world". What started out as a small venture by four siblings who
all helped make and market whitening soaps inside the house almost three decades ago is now
a fast growing exporter of soaps to the Middle East, Africa and Southeast Asia, shipping out
120,000 bars a week to its client overseas.

A chemical engineer by profession, Edgar used to work in rubber shoemaking companies

in the country and had a stint as a plant manager in Saudi Arabia and Indonesia before he
decided to try making soaps on his own with the help of his three sisters,one of them inspired
him to start a soapmaking business. After just three months, the soap was a hot commodity that
the siblings decided to rent an old shoe factory and use it to make soaps. They started making
whitening,derma and glycerin soaps mostly for local companies who wanted to sell these
products but did not want to manufacture them on their own so tjey ordered from Goldwin. Right
now, 70 percent of Goldwin's production is for the exports and market and the rest is sold to
companies in the Phinlippines under a contracting agreement, meaning these firms use their
own brands and labels on the product.

When we arrived at this company, i noticed that although they do not have that very big
company, still, they are able to manage their business properly and their facilities are in good
conditions.The business have a approach to organizational behavior. Managers are giving
value to their associates by considering all the needs of their employee. The associates are
doing their best in doing their own tasks just to finished all the assigned works in a particular time.
The company had their own vision,mission and goals that shows how they give value to their
business. The associates are wearing their proper uniform while performing their tasks. It shows that
they have a clean and neat surroundings. The soaps undergoes on a different and several process until it
became a final product. They have their own techiques and strategies on how they will make and
produce a better and promising products. All the materials and ingredients that they are using is all
made of organic materials. They have different machines that helps the associates to easily do their
tasks without any hassle. According to the owner of the company, they are able to produce 30,000
soaps a day. They used to export their products in our neighborhood country in which they sell it in a
much larger and expensive amount of money.

Location: Marikina City

Marikina Hub offers a variety of local brand of shoes,sandals and hand bags made in Marikina
City.The hub started its operations last December, 2014. Marikina Hub is a previous factory of shoes and
bags and decided to have their own store inside their factory.

Based on what i have observed, it seems that the company used learning and perception in
managing their business because they think of a way on how they will rise from their mistakes as well as
knowing on how they will grow and achieve progress in the business world. According to the associate,
Marikina Hub is just a factory of bags and shoes back then,where the different business men used to buy
their products in a cheaper price then they will sell it to their countries in a luxurious amount of money.
So in that case, they thought that they are just being a slave of other countries. So from that
mistakes,they learned on how to stand with their own feet so they started operating this business. In
operating this business they had their different perceptions on how they will run this organization.
Based on their finished products,i can say that they have a potential in achieving a succesful company
someday. The cloth that they are using is really a unique and durable one. Their products are really
awesome for having those kind of beauty and durability.

Lucban Hats Global Export Inc l. ( also known as Lucban Hats and Handicrafts, Inc.) is a
leading manufacturer and worldwide supplier of top quality ladies hats and fascinates, men's
hats, children's hats, and accessories made from natural fibers such as buntal, racfia, buri,
abaca, pandan and sinamay as well as other native fabrics found in the Philippines. All of the
hats and accessories are hand made, trimmed and tailored tothe clients.
For over 40 years, Lucban Hats has remained an accredited producer and exporter of
fashionable hats and headwear materials catering to elite millinery companies, high-end
department stores, fashion retailers,wholesalers and fine boutiques located in the fashion
capitals of Europe, Asia, Australis, Africa and the United States. It has been described as the
"hat lovers paradise" by all who come to visit.

In visiting this company i therefore conclude that the management of this organization
contains High Involvement Management in running their business because the factory is composed
of highly skilled and diligently trained sewers, trimmers,and blockers who use a blend of traditional and
modern millinery techniques to create export-quality custom designed hats. The management select the
right and responsible people for their business because they believed that the reputation of an
organization depends on the acts and works of the associates. So in order for them to have a secured
business,they are sending their employees to different places to have a training. They also had a power
on decision-making specially when they have to think of another design of the products. Lucban Hats is
popular in the business world because different countries are purchasing their products especially the
United States. They used to export their beautiful hats outside the country with an exchange of getting
enough income.

high-quality poduct that consists of
durable and long- lasting
materials. It is the factory of
different kind of shoes whereby the
materials used are greatly came
from the skin of animals
specially the cows and carabaos.

Upon visiting this company, i can

say that motivation is the factor that management applied to this organization because i noticed
that the employees and associates are greatly
giving value and importance on this
organization. All the workers are wearing their
proper attire in order to protect their body and
health as well as securing their safety whenever
there is a time that the machines will
misfunction. Another one is the facilities. It

contains a good and big facilities that gives

motivation to the workers to become
productive. When you elevate to the preceeding floors, at the end of the floors you will see and
feel the good ambiance of nature. You will see the pool that waving in one direction together
with the snap of air. When it comes to the operation, they impressed me on what i saw because
from the beginning until the end of the process they proved that their product is really durable. It
takes a lot of time in producing one pair of shoes but they still able to manage all their tasks and works
in a disciplined way.
