TRAINING CODE OF CONDUCT

ATTENDANCE AND PUNCTUALITY

UNEXCUSED ABSENCE IS NOT ALLOWED. Incidence of absence is subject to disciplinary


action up to termination. Each case shall be investigated in order to determine if the reason for
absence is valid, and if the trainee has the capability to make up for missed training. Convergys
Training and HR reserve the right to decide on the merits of the case and on whether the trainee
shall be allowed to continue training.

IMPORTANT: Trainees will not be allowed to make up for any assessments missed during their
absence.

No Call, No Show (NCNS)

No Call, No Show (NCNS) is defined as incurring an unauthorized absence without notification.


One instance of NCNS in Training may lead to termination of your employment due to failure to
meet training standards.

If you need to be absent due to sickness or other emergencies, you must notify your trainer
through the Convergys receptionist at telephone #s:

Please make sure you:


 call before the designated start of your training, or at the latest, within the first 4 hours
of training
 give the reason for your absence
 get the name of the receptionist before you end the call
 know the exact time you made the call

Sending text messages through your trainerfriends who are employed by Convergys or your
classmates is not allowed. Our trainer shall not consider this as prior notice.

Tardiness

Tardiness is defined as reporting to work / training after the start of his or her official work hour or
shift schedule. Every (2) instance of reporting late for work or an accumulation of (30) thirty
minutes, whichever comes first, shall constitute an offense of TARDINESS

Over-break
Over-break is defined as returning late from an authorized break. You can be cited for more than
one occurrence of over break within a single day

Under-time

Under-time is defined as leaving work before the end of his official work hours or shift schedule
without the written consent and approval of his immediate superior.

Training Behavior and Decorum

Any of the following violations shall result in Disciplinary Action up to Termination

1. Malingering
2. Cheating on any test/evaluation in training
3. Non-compliance with the training requirements
4. Disrespect for trainer and fellow trainees
5. Unauthorized downloading and copying of training materials or any information provided
during training
6. Improper use of the training room (This includes non-observance of the no eating, no
smoking and no drinking rule.)
7. Logging onto Internet without permission from your trainer. (There are computers
available in the pantry for your personal use.)
8. Failure to observe the following rules on the use of mobile phones:
a. Always keep your cell phones in silent or “mute” mode while in class.
b. Absolutely no checking, composing or sending text messages while in class.
(You may only check your messages or take calls when you are on break.)
9. Non-observance of the English Only policy. Convergys strives to maintain an “English
Only” working environment. We expect you to speak only in English while within the
confines of the company.

Proprietary Information

All training materials are property of Convergys, including all manuals used. If your assignment
ends during training, you must return your training materials to your trainer. Unauthorized
disclosure of training information; or permitting or assisting unauthorized persons to have such
access to training information, articles or proprietary materials shall be subject to termination
without prejudice to other legal actions.

Dress Code

Follow Convergys dress guidelines and display your company ID at all times. Your trainer and/or
manager may call your attention if you are not abiding by the dress code. Please refer to the
employee handbook for the complete guide on proper company dress code.

Communication and Culture Training and Program Specific Training are “Pass/Fail” training
programs. Your CCT or PST trainer shall clearly explain the passing standards, mechanics and
disqualifiers in the respective Training Programs.
Disciplinary Action

Appropriate Disciplinary Action, ranging from verbal counseling to termination shall be given after
due investigation. Below is a schedule of disciplinary actions, which shall be noted in your 201
file.

 1st Count: Verbal Counseling (VC)


 2nd: Written Counseling (WC)
 3rd : Final Written Counseling (FWC)
 4th : Written Warning (WW)
 5th : Written Reprimand
 6th : Final Written Reprimand (FWR)
 7th : Dismissal (D)

Disciplinary Actions given in training shall carry over in transition and in production. The
probationary period shall encompass your performance in training up until the 180 th day of your
employment.

This schedule of disciplinary action does not apply to cases of absences and No Call, No Show,
which are subject to Termination. Furthermore, while the schedule describes the normal
progression of disciplinary actions, Convergys Training and HR are not confined to this process
and expressly reserve the right to impose sanctions and pursue legal action depending on the
gravity of the infractions.

It is understood that with respect to other matters not covered by this Training Code of Conduct
the provisions of the Employee Handbook and Labor Code of the Philippines, its implementing
rules and regulations, and of special laws on labor benefits and welfare will apply.

You agree to abide by all the Company’s rules and regulations that now exist and/or may
hereafter be promulgated and it shall be your duty to study and know the rules immediately upon
hiring or immediately upon their promulgation.
