KDEC Welcome and Introduction video

 
A warm welcome to IIM Udaipur!
 
We hope you all are doing well and taking the necessary precautions to stay safe. The virtual
mode might have prevented you from interacting with seniors and your batch mates, but we
encourage you to do so as your seniors and peers will be an essential part of your life as a part
of IIMU.
 
 
Knowledge Development Cell was established in 2012 to facilitate a comfortable transition
into the business school environment. Much of the knowledge and know-how acquired
during the first three trimesters of the Masters in Business Administration Program is carried
forward into the second year. Therefore, it is of utmost importance that you adapt quickly
to the high academic standards we set for our students. It is our responsibility to help you
throughout the first term and pace the process well.
 
The MBA Program at IIM Udaipur is aimed at preparing you for many challenges that you
may face in the professional world. As you graduate from this Institute, you will most likely
be in a profession that involves rigorous decision-making and leadership skills. Mastering
these skills in 21 months is a mammoth task that takes continuous effort to get gradual but
effective results. As the ongoing pandemic exacerbates our situation, this will require an even
greater effort.
 
In line with the Institute's core values of integrity and academic excellence, we hope to help
you become able leaders who would take our country to the acme of success. The Institute
has a vision of seeing you transformed into such leaders and aims at being transformed into a
globally recognized brand in B-Schools along the way with U.
 
You have come from various academic backgrounds and work cultures. With utmost
certainty, working together towards effective learning will be an enriching experience for all
of you. We urge you not to let physical boundaries prevent you from working with your peers
as a team. As future managers, this will be the testing ground for you to learn how to lead a
team using remote working tools.
 
To make the most of this experience, the Knowledge Development Cell has set the following
basic rules that need to be followed by all the students of the Institute at all times:
 
1. You must log in to all the classes/sessions at least five minutes before the scheduled
time
2. You have to join all sessions/classes from IIMU id only, and you should follow a
proper naming convention (First name_Roll no) eg: Rahul_1111111
3. Mobile phones must be switched off/kept in silent mode during any
class/session. You are expected to focus solely on the lecture and not run any
additional applications other than those as requested by the professor during the
lecture. Ringing of cellphones while answering or using them during any class/session
is highly disrespectful to the faculty/presenter and fellow students; therefore, strict
adherence to this policy is a must
4. Every student is required to keep their video on during the entire duration of the
meeting unless permitted by the authority conducting the session. Needless to
reiterate, all students are expected to be professional enough to stay attentive in
classes/sessions. Dozing off at such times is unacceptable at any cost, and such
cases will be dealt with strictly
5. You must follow the name convention strictly, and a breach of the same can lead to
your assignment not being considered for evaluation
6. Unless specified explicitly, you are expected to attend all classes/sessions in Smart
Casuals
7. In a professional business environment, you need to develop and inculcate a habit
of checking your emails regularly, and we expect you to develop that habit at this
Institute. No excuses will be entertained about failing to read the emails
8. As future managers, it is of utmost importance that you keep yourself updated
with Business and Global News at all times
9. Integrity, being one of our core values here at IIM Udaipur, we expect you not to
plagiarize any content. Any discrepancy found in this attracts penalties and
punishments of the highest order
10. Deadlines are sacrosanct and have to be met by all students at all times
 
Additionally, as a student of IIM Udaipur is expected to be well rounded in all aspects, we
have asked the student functional clubs to check the initial understanding of the incoming
students regarding the different domains that are part of management education. Every
incoming student of the batch is required to go through any activities that they organize
strictly. The outcome of these tasks will be used to prepare a scorecard for ranking students
according to their aptitude.
 
Last but not least, to facilitate peer interaction, we have created a form where you have to
upload a short introduction video about yourselves so that your peers can learn more about
you. All of you are expected to submit the same in the form below:

Notes:
 
1. Kindly keep the duration of the video within 2 minutes.
2. The form is accessible to students only through the IIMU email.
3. If you have trouble logging in despite using the domain address, please use an
incognito tab and copy-paste the form link.
4. Please note that you are expected to make a short introductory video and not a video
resume. It is an opportunity for you to present the best version of yourself to your
peers.
5. There is no dress code for the introductory video.
