1- Lord Frederic Leighton (1830-
1896) A sensuous, porcelain -skinned
goddess gazes at her reflection as she
prepares for her bath. The soft yellows
whites and flesh tones create a sense of calm
while her elongated body is accentuated by
the ionic column behind her and the tall,
thin shape of the canvas. The brushstrokes
invisible to the eye, are as smooth and
polished as the still surface of the water.
Lord Leighton , who studied art in Europe,
was a leader of Classicism in Britain, his
style and choice of subject being profoundly
influenced by the statues and mythology of
antiquity, which was in direct opposition
to the Medievalism of the Pre-Raphaelites.
He had an inmediate success when his first
picture was purchased by Queen Victoria.
His paintings became hugely popular
through mass-produced reproductions,
and he was also and excellent sculptor. Lord
Leighton was later elected President of
London’s Royal Academy.

2-Burra Edward (1905-
1976 ) The artist has captured
the spirit of the formidable and
depressed figures in
this haunting Cornish landscape,
with its ruined tin-mine
workings in the background.
It is known that the man in the striped coat ,was seen by Burra in
a pub , and the two tattooed figures are direct copies from a book.
The strange,ghostly head just visible in the top left-hand corner,may
reflect Burra’s interest in Surrealism. Although he knew a number of
the Surrealism while living in France, he never really allied himself
with them or any other movement . Burra’s work during the 1930
became satirical , recalling that of George Grosz. Towards the end
of his life his works developed into his own peculiar style. Most of
his famous works are watercolours of women or of people enjoying
themselves. These were done in Burra’s sharp, slightly exaggerated
style,which changed little throughout his life.
El artista ha capturado el espíritu de figuras formidables y deprimidas
en este inquietante paisaje de Cornish, con sus arruinados trabajos

3- GaboNaum (1890-
1977) A nylon string is wound

three-dimensional pattern of
concave and convex folds.It was
conceived as part of an unrealized
3-meter- commission for the Esso
building in New York in 1949.
With this extraordinarily ethereal
sculpture Gabo has achieved an
example of delicacy, transparency
and weightlessness that was
unprecedented. The sculpture
seems to float as if suspended
from an invisible cord and, having
no beginning or end, it conveys a sense of infinity .Gabo was a
Constructivist and this work is an example of the movement in the
way that it captures the indefinite expansion of space. Gabo left his
native Russia in 1922 , and spent time in Berlin and Paris before
becoming an American citizen. In 1952, he combined his artistic
talents with architecture , constructing an enormous monument for a
department store in Rotterdam.

 4-El Lissitzky (1890-
1941 ) Revolving geometric
objects painted in delicate
colours appear to be floating in
the air, thus creating a sense of
depth and an illusion of space.
Some of the shapes are given
three dimensions , and this
suggestion of architectural forms
was developed in Lissitzky’s
later works. In its concentration
of pure form and colour, the
drawing shows the influence of
Suprematism, an abstract art form invented by Kasimir Malevich
based or pure geometric figures Lissitzky trained first as an engineer,
then as an architect.Marc Chagall appointed him professor of
architecture and graphic art at the art school in Vitebsk ,where
he came under the influence of Malevich. His series of Prouns is
well-known a number of abstract works of straight lines, dramatic
architectural qualities and an overrall flatness, with no suggestion
of depth.Lissitzky’s creative versatility extended to designs for
costumes, exhibitions,posters and books.

ilusión de espacio. Algunas de las formas se dan en 3 dimensiones
y esta sugerencia de formas arquitectónicas.Lissitzky desarrolló en

5-Denis Maurice (1870- 1943)
Three images of the same slender figure
dominate this painting. The folds of her
dress, and tree trunks, combined with
the straight walkways, emphasize the
vertival lines of the composition. Denis
was a member of the Nabis ,a group of
painters who associated themselves
with Paul Gauguin’s expressive use of
colour and rhythm. At the age of 20
Denis made the following statement,
which is often considered the key to
contemporary painting, Remember that
a picture , before being a war horse or nude woman or some anecdote
is essentially a flat surface covered with colours assembled in a certain
order.This way of looking at art eventually led to abstraction . The
painting shown here confirms te artist’s belief that a picture’s subject
matter is not as important as its composition. Paradoxically, Denis
later attempted to revive religious painting, which is very dependent
on subject matter, and in 1939 he published a history of religious art.

pliegues de su vestido y los troncos de los árboles, junto con la recta
pasarelas, destacan las líneas verticales de composición.Denis fue
miembro de los Nabis, un grupo de pintores que se asociaron con
el uso expresivo del color y el ritmo. A la edad de 20 años, Denis,
hizo la siguiente declaración, que se considera a menudo la clave
para la pintura contemporánea. “Recuerden que una imagen antes
de ser un caballo de guerra o una mujer desnuda o una anécdota,es
esencialmente una superficie plana cubierta de colores reunidos
en un cierto orden”. Esta forma de ver el arte finalmente lo llevó a
lo abstracto,la pintura muestra que el artista es la creencia de que
la imagenes el tema no es tan importante como su composición.
Paradójicamente, Denis más tarde trató de revivir la pintura
religiosa,que es muy dependiente de la materia y publicó una historia
del arte religioso.
6- Brauner Victor ( 1903-
1966 ) Muted browns and
ochre tones decorate a spartan
room with a table, part furniture,
part wolf, at which a featureless
naked lady sits nonchalantly as
if calmly waiting for a meal to be
served . Her hair curves up and
forms a bird with a swan like
neck which viciously confronts
the wolfs head growing out of the
table. His tail and genitals are at
the order end. Brauner produced
a series of paintings such as this inhabited by strange hybrids of
women, animals and objects. These absurd hallucinatory fantasies
spring from the enigmatic world of Surrealist art, in which the visual
imagination is freed from the constraints of reason and logic. The
Surrealists vision aimed to harness the unconscious to produce
revelatory , stimulating images. Born in Romania, Brauner worked
mainly in France. In 1931 he painted his self-portrait with Extracted
Eye, the work proved to be prophetic, as the artist lost his left eye in a
bar brawl in 1938.

con una mesa, pieza de mueble lobo parte en la que una mujer
desnuda sin rasgos se sienta tranquilamente como si con calma
espera una comida que se sirve. Su. curvas pelo arriba y forma un
pájaro con un cuello de cisne que con saña confronta la cabeza de
lobo, que crece fuera de la cola de la mesa.Su cola y los genitales
estan en el otro final.Brauner produjo una serie de pinturas como
esta inhabitada por extraños híbridos de mujeres,animales y objetos.
Estas alucinatorias fantasías absurdas brotan del enigmático mundo
del arte Surrealista, en el que la imaginación visual libera de las
limitaciones de la razón y la lógica. Los Surrealistas aprovechan
la visión orientado a lo inconsciente para producir reveladoras
imágenes estimulantes. Nacido en Rumania, Brauner trabajo
principalmente en Francia. En 1931 pintó su autorretrato con el ojo
extraido, la obra resultó ser profético, como el artista perdió su ojo
izquierdo en una pelea de bar en 1938.

Erick Valencia is a MBA and Art History. He is a manager
and art historian, born in Dorada Caldas, Colombia. He
devoted himself to be an artist in a private way, after started
studies in art history at the American Andragogy University,
Honolulu, Hawaii. Specializing in multi-style art. The
venture in the art history from prehistoric art, through the
Impressionists and reaching the vicinity of the art facilities;
It has allowed the brain plastic artist, and not only use their
artistic skills to create their own trends works, and also search

His varied knowledge of art through history has allowed to

the market in several areas of art and decoration, mainly in

tilingual, SIRJE OKAS AINSO views herself as citizen of the
world, at home where her heart is. Her world, for most of her
life, has been the wide world of the Americas. Her work reflects
that world – a world of magic realism, of mystery and fantasy…
The focus in her paintings is always the human figure, the story
behind is suggestive, opening windows in the observer’s imagi-
nation… Her current work is in the symbolistic vein, narrative
and poetical, displaying a deep feeling for the human being, in
harmony with its natural habitat.
“All my personae are real. They may be living in a fantasy world, in
a dream - theirs or the observer’s… that’s the fun factor, or a guess-
ing game. But the emotions they project are always very real… “
Sirje has widely exhibited – in Europe as well as in the US,
Canada and in South America. Her work has been shown at
the UNITED NATIONS headquarters in NYC and she has
exhibited with the UN Artists Group to benefit the work of
UNICEF.

Canal in Venezia, Italy – a week-long virtual art show by a
group of 20 international artists.
Since 2012 she is participating at major Art Fairs in the US – at

the prestigious Art Basel Miami Beach during the Miami Art
Week and aboard the megayacht Seafair in Miami, amongst
other venues.
In August 2015 her work was present at the International Bien-
nial Art at Nina Torres Fine Art gallery in Miami – the city she
has made hers since 2014.
And in December she exhibited at the fashionable MIAMI

Velib is originally from a little town named Tequisquiapan
in Mexico. She had always lived with her family, until last
year when she decided to move to Miami and live by herself
so she could follow and accomplish her artistic dreams. Recently
she has been exhibiting at the world’s biggest art fair “art basel”.
In Miami River. Also she has exposed at some cities thru out
the US like San Antonio, Dallas, New York, along with couple
cities in Mexico.Vanessa’s art is the pure essence of life given
to an empty canvas thru the expression of her emotions always
using happy colors. Today she is thrilled to share her art with all
of you and for making you part of her career.
Vanessa Velib es una artista mexicana. Desde niña demostró
mucha facilidad en la pintura, con un estilo propio expresa sus
sentimientos a través de técnicas en la que utiliza materiales
coloridos y texturas únicas que muestran su alegría por la
vida. Su talento la ha llevado a varias partes del mundo donde

“The spirit of
native land”
My name is Karina Zelens’ka, 26 years old. I was born
in Dnipropetrovsk (Ukraine) – the former Katerinoslav,
based in the XVIII century by the great Russian empress
Katerina II and the grand duke Grigoriy Potemkin as the
third “southern” capital of the Russian Empire. By the way,
Katerinoslav was the third city of Russian Empire in which
the electric tram was started, and acacias trees - the symbol
of the city – were brought specially from the South America.
Historians claim that “the main Katerinoslav Avenue could
be compared with the best streets of the world capitals”.
In the city were opened many cultural and scientific
institutions, including Academy of Arts. The Dnipropetrovsk
region is well-known and rich by the ancient history that
numerous archeological finds prove, in particular, burials
(barrows) of the Scythian people (the end of VI – the
beginning of the III centuries BC).

In barrows invaluable artifacts of the most ancient culture

of imperial Scythians were remained. The most famous and
glorified artifact was gold Pektoral (breast decoration of
the tsar, soldier) from a barrow the Thick Grave (“Tovsta
Mogyla”), the IV century BC. It was found on June 21,
1971 during archaeological researches of burial the Thick
Grave by Ukrainian archeologist Boris Mozolevskiy.
This find was called by UNESCO “one of the greatest
archaeological opening of mankind of the XX century”.
Scythian Pektoral is the unique model of ancient jeweler art
made, according to experts, in the second quarter of the IV
century BC on the territory of Greece. Stone “Babas”, the
outstanding phenomenon of the most ancient times, are
presented in Dnipropetrovsk historical museum. The “Baba”
means – “the ancestor, the grandfather”. In Dnipropetrovsk
historical museum there is one of the biggest collections of
stone plasticity in Ukraine, collected by the famous historian
Dmitriy Yavornitskiy.
One of “business cards” of Ukraine around the world is
well-known Petrikivskiy ornament (“Petrikivskiy rozpis”)
according to the name of the settlement of Petrikivka, the
regional center of the Dnipropetrovsk area. Petrikivka is
an art trade, decorative and ornamental national painting.
Petrikivskiy ornament is used in decorating houses,
interiors, household items, on wooden craft products,
porcelain, glass-painting… Modern masters paint national
towels (“rushnik”) and blouses, leather purses … Petrikivka
was created as an independent type of easel decorative
graphics and widely extended as art school. The vegetable-
flower ornament is the main characteristic of “Petrikisvkiy
rozpis” and carries on traditions of Ukrainian baroque.
In 2013 “Petrikivskiy rozpis” was included into the
Representative list of non-material cultural heritage of
mankind of UNESCO. What about professional art school
of Katerinoslav, its development was on the border of
XIX-XX centuries, when the city became the large industrial
center of the Russian empire. The graduates of Imperial

were to unite together, to restore and collect pictures of
art heritage of this region and to keep the memory and all
materials about artists. The founder of museum is Oleg
Naumov, who makes huge contribution in cultural life of
Dnipropetrovsk. Activity of museum includes work of a
big library with collection of rare editions and the most
modern literature about art. Exhibitions of modern artists
are constantly held at the highest level of presentations and
conceptual decorations of halls.
