MODELING AND ATTACHING THE SCREENS CENTER TO THE BRACKET

(file: monitor_bracket_property.hm)

The TV screen and thus its load will be represented by a corresponding vertical force applied to the
center of the screen.
Two modeling steps are involved. In the first step a temporary working node is being created at the
center / origin of the screen. In the second step this node is linked (attached) to the bracket by
means of rigid links (REB2) elements.

1. Create temporary node at the center of the screen:

GeometryCreateNodesArc Center, then select the inner green edge and append a center
node.

Next, the temporary node is moved by 40 mm (half the thickness of the screen) in negative
xdirection.

Definition of RBE2 Element
This RBE2 element will be placed in a different component collector:
Right mouse button click in the Model BrowserCreateComponent named RBE2 (this component
should automatically become “current”)

MeshCreate1D ElementsRigids

The before created temporary node becomes the “independent” node, whereas all nodes placed on

18
the outer ring of the bracket are “dependent” nodes.

Save your work as: monitor_bracket_RBE.hm

Later on a force representing the load of the TV screen will be applied on the independent node.
