Grant Dunbar

Student Teaching  In 2015 I got my first job in a school district; educational

Applicant   assistant in a special education program. Admittedly, it
started off as just another job. Little did I know at the time,
ㅡ
education is a huge passion of mine! I spend the next few
1609 South Comet Road
Sioux Falls, SD 57103  years learning from some amazing teachers and students
605.360.1878  before convincing myself to enroll in a more formal
grant.dunbar@trojans.dsu.edu  education program. I have spent the last three years at
Dakota State University, working towards a bachelors in
Special Education & Elementary Education; all the while
continuing to work at Patrick Henry as a full time
educational assistant. This combination of school and work
have given me a unique experience and perspective on
education, one that I am excited to finally implement in a
classroom!

I live in Sioux Falls with my wife and our three dogs, Marley,
Brayer, and Luna. We are expecting our first baby on
December 5th! I am sure by the time you read this he will be
with us! My also world at Patrick Henry as a band teacher, as

well as Pettigrew Elementary. We try to spend most of our
time at our family lake house located on Lake Kampeska.
When I am not at the lake or working, I like to play Ultimate
Frisbee and ski. In summer, I captain a nationally competing
Ultimate team based out of Omaha, Nebraska. In the winter,
my wife and I try to take at least one Ski trip to Colorado or
Montana (though I’m not so sure that baby Dunbar will allow
it this year!
