Q.a How does a search engine work?

Ans. The link structure of the web binds all of the pages together. Links allows the search engines automated
robots, called “crawlers’ or “spiders”, or “bots” to reach the many billions of interconnected documents on
the web. The engines decipher (Understand) the code from these documents and store selected pieces in
massive database. The selected data is recalled latter when needed for a search query. Most search engines
take one or more word entered by the user, search the contents of every webpage stored in their data bases
and display the result. Search engine list of websites that contain this information. These results are known
as “hits”. The word we type into the search box are called “keywords”.

Q.b What is the difference between bcc and cc?


Ans. CC, BCC is a way of sending copies of an email to other people. The difference between the two is that,
while you can see who else has received the email when CC is used, that is not the case with BCC. It is called
blind carbon copy because the other recipients won’t be able to see that someone else has been sent a copy
of the email.

Q.c What are the three common mail protocols?

Ans.

1. IMAP- It is incoming protocol, when we want to retrieve an e-mail box by multiple e-mail clients,
therefore clients generally leave messages on the server until the user explicitly deletes them.
2. POP- We set it as incoming protocol when we want to download all messages from the mail server
and stores them on the client computer, and finally deletes them from the server.
3. SMTP- It is an email related protocol used for sending messages to other computer users, based on
e-mail addresses.
Q.d What do you mean by e-banking?

Ans. Online banking is also known as internet banking, e-banking or virtual banking. It is an electronic
payment system that enables customers of a bank or other financial institution to do financial transaction
through the website.

The online banking can be classified as transactional or non-transactional:

Transactional- When a customer performs a financial transaction like transfer of money, paying of a bill, or
applies for a loan.

Non-transactional- This involves in checking the account details and bank statement online.

Ans. Advantages of e shopping-

1. Shopping online can be carried out 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, all the year round.
2. We can do online shopping from the convenience of our home, without the need to travel to shop.

1. A customer can only see the image of the product and is unable to touch or feel it.
2. If the customer wants to return a product the process may be quite tedious.

Ans. Rules for creating a valid email address-

1. The user name cannot be longer than 64 characters long and the domain name cannot be longer
than 254 characters.
2. There should be only one @ sign in an email address.
3. The space and special characters: ( ), : ; <> \ [ ] are allowed.
4. The username and e-mail addresses cannot begin or end with a period.
5. The email must not have two or more consecutive periods.
