Ans. A search engine is a program that searches for and identifies items in a database that correspond to
keywords or characters specified by the user, used especially for finding particular sites on the World Wide
Web.

Ans. Surfing is the act of browsing the Internet by going from one web page to another web page using
hyperlinks. Browser software is used for surfing.

are online at that time in the same “room”.
Ans. Blog is an online journal or diary of an individual. It is mostly written by one person who is called a
blogger. It is generally used to tell about an individual's view on any particular topic, promote products,
provide information. Etc.
Ans. A newsgroup is (typically) focused on a certain subject matter, and has many different people posting
their comments and questions on that topic while a blog is (typically) focused on a certain author’s voice,
and often covers many different topics, of interest to the author.

Ans. Multimedia Messaging Service is a standard way to send messages that include multimedia content to
and from a mobile phone over a cellular network. Users and providers may refer to such a message as a PXT,
a picture message, or a multimedia message.

the web. The engines decipher (Understand) the code from these documents and store selected pieces in
massive database. The selected data is recalled latter when needed for a search query. Most search engines
take one or more word entered by the user, search the contents of every webpage stored in their data bases
and display the result. Search engine list of websites that contain this information. These results are known
as “hits”. The word we type into the search box are called “keywords”.

3. SMTP- It is an email related protocol used for sending messages to other computer users, based on
e-mail addresses.
Q.d What do you mean by e-banking?
Ans. Online banking is also known as internet banking, e-banking or virtual banking. It is an electronic
payment system that enables customers of a bank or other financial institution to do financial transaction
through the website.
Transactional- When a customer performs a financial transaction like transfer of money, paying of a bill, or
applies for a loan.
Non-transactional- This involves in checking the account details and bank statement online.
Q.e Name two advantages and disadvantages of a shopping for the buyer.
1. Shopping online can be carried out 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, all the year round.
2. We can do online shopping from the convenience of our home, without the need to travel to shop.
Disadvantages of e shopping-
1. A customer can only see the image of the product and is unable to touch or feel it.
2. If the customer wants to return a product the process may be quite tedious.

1. The user name cannot be longer than 64 characters long and the domain name cannot be longer
than 254 characters.

4. The username and e-mail addresses cannot begin or end with a period.
5. The email must not have two or more consecutive periods.

Ans. A group is a group of people who come together to form an online on web community. This is a feature
many social networking sites which is now becoming very popular as it allows people to share photos,
events, messages, or comment to and read from their own interest.
1. It is a convenient means to get connected with old friends or new acquaintances or other like-
minded people.
