Lahore Garrison University is one of the emerging universities of Lahore, which is

dedicated to meet many complex challenges facing us today. LGU has come a long way in a
short span of time due to the commitment and dedication of its team of hardworking
professionals. The university has a state-of-the-art campus, with 4 main faculties divided into 14
departments, a sports complex, multi-storeyed parking, and a mosque housing the Islamic
Research Centre. LGU also has to its credits, South Asia’s 1 st Digital Forensics Research and
Service Centre (DFRSC). Highly qualified faculty and the visionary management of this
university are dedicatedly working towards the grooming of today’s youth into becoming
tomorrow’s leaders, researchers, and entrepreneurs.

LGU’s objective is not only to cope with the current exigency, however long it lasts, but
to harness the energies and passions of our youth to address and overcome the challenges we will
face after the crisis has subsided. In the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic and the subsequent
closure of educational institutions in the country, LGU was the only University that formed a
Technical Support Committee and continued the semester through E-Learning/Online Teaching
since day one of the lockdowns. It was not the time to hunker down and wait for everything to
return to normal instead, to be innovative in planning and delivering in the present scenario.

In mid-March, LGU started its online classes uninterrupted without wasting time. LGU
conducted online classes and Mid and Final exams successfully, with above 90% student
attendance, from day one and planned fast. LMS (ERP and Moodle) was well established and in
running already. In addition, Google Classroom and Zoom were also used for online teaching
and learning. The students and faculty were not only informed about the online teaching and
learning approach but were also given regular pieces of training and were prepared well in
advance for the online exam, using Moodle and ERP.
Online Monitoring teams were formed and functioned actively, under the support and
guidance of worthy Vice-Chancellor. Apart from this LGU has been generous to share its good
practices including ICTs, setting up of LMS, proactive approach, effective planning, close
monitoring, and hands-on training, by sending/sharing introductory videos to various
universities.

LGU’s well-built Learning Management Systems (LMS) and other Online Teaching
Tools (Zoom and Google Classroom) not only helped in successfully delivering quality
education but LGU also conducted online Mid-Term Exams and Final Term Exams maintaining
the quality standards and providing 100 percent support to the students living in distant areas.

LGU also stipulated educational opportunities offered outside the traditional classroom
through digitally transforming educational experience of Virtual Library (more than 100000
Books). The University is in the process of finalizing agreement terms with high-ranking
educational institutions in Germany, Finland, Australia, and the United States of America.

SERC (South Eastern Regional College UK) has recently signed a Memorandum of
Understanding (MoU) with Lahore Garrison University. The MoU will allow the two
organizations to work in partnership to develop combined programmes, staff exchange schemes,
and explore new areas of opportunities and commercial ventures.

LGU students have been considered best in many competitions and have brought
accolades and laurels back home be it HULT Prize Competition, Sports, Dramatics, Performing
Arts, Debates, or NERC Robotics Competition. LGU is ranked in the top 10 national teams
across the board. LGU has been declared best at the provincial level for the commencement of
the Live Transmission Microsoft Imagine Cup for consecutively two years.

Lahore Garrison University is a flourishing higher educational institution continuously

engaging its staff and students and investing its resources and energies in developing a world-
class institution to strengthen Pakistan’s intellectual standing in the global education ecosystem.
