Christmas Lantern

Made of Palms of Coconut Tree and Eggshell

Coconut tree is one of the most emblematic palm trees from

tropical countries. Coconut tree belongs to Arecaceae, the family of
monocots with tree aspect, known as palm trees. Most of the part of the
coconut tree are very useful. The palm or the leaves of this tree breaks
away cleanly, leaving the trunk smooth. I will be making lantern made of
this indigenous material since Christmas is near and we have Coconut
trees near our house, I will also use eggshells to add a bit of decoration.
If this will be approved I would really enjoy making it, since the spirit of
Christmas is here and it is amazing making it with the use of indigenous
materials.

Materials to be use:

Dried palm of coconut tree

Eggshells
Cutter
Wood Glue
String of dried palm of coconut tree
Procedure:

 Cleaning of dried palm coconut

 Crush the eggshells
 Using the cutter, cut the dried palm into desired length
 Make an illustration first of the lantern
 With the use of string of coconut palm shape it into lantern and
after finishing the shape of the lantern top it up with the leaves of
coconut.
 Using the string of palm of coconut tie the points of lantern. Making
sure that the lantern is holding.
 After covering the lantern, put some eggshells into desired places
with the use of wood glue.
 Finishing up the final product make sure that the lantern can hang
into the air without being fragment.
