Discussion

 In our site, we used different beam sizes for 15th building. In front, we used W12x14 for
ground floor, w12x16 for 1st to 4th floor and w 10x12 for 5th to 14th floor. For the side
view we used w12x 16 for ground to 4th floor and w10x2 for 5th to 14th floor.
 If we changed the ground floor size, we need to change the whole beam size that used in
building.
 That’s why we used beam W12x14 with the load of 13830 lb/ft in front and w 12x16
with a load of 9555lb/ft in side.
 Even though the stiffness, safe and strength is good enough, it is bad economically.
Because the load on bottom is huge to light on top.
 “Can we use same size? What happen?” Yes, but the stress on upper floor are less than
the lower floor and the economic will fail.
