SUMMARY
On October 25, 2020, at approximately 2346 hours, an adult female was driving a Toyota Tacoma northbound on Howard St. north of SR-162
at a high rate of speed. There was an adult male in the front passenger seat and an adult female in the rear seat. For reasons still under
investigation, the female drove the Toyota off the east roadway edge of Howard St., through a wood fence prior to colliding with a tree. The
female driver and male front passenger succumbed to their injuries and were pronounced deceased at the scene. The female rear passenger
was flown to Enloe Medical Center in Chico with major injuries. The identity of the driver and front passenger are being withheld pending
notification of next of kin. The identity of the rear passenger is being withheld pending positive identification.
Long Valley Volunteer Fire Department, CalFire, Reach Air, Laytonville Ambulance and the Mendocino County Sheriffs Department assisted
with processing the collision scene and transporting the injured party.
