You’re Susie Style. Read this e-mail sent to you by one of your readers:

Dear Susie Style,

My girlfriend/boyfriend is driving me crazy! She/He is a slave to fashion, but I just

don’t care about it! I just like to dress comfortably wherever I go, I don’t really think
looks are important. My girlfriend/boyfriend sometimes says she/he feels ashamed
and that I should put some more attention to my appearance in general, my
clothes, my hairstyle, etc. Should I change because of her/him? Or should we just
break up? Can you give me some advice?

Enemy of Fashion

Now write an e-mail back to “Enemy of Fashion”. Give this person at least four
different pieces of advice using modal verbs. For each piece of advice, you have to
add at least two sentences with extra information, explaining the reason for your
suggestion.

Structure:

Dear Enemy of Fashion:

I understand your problem. First of all…(First sentence with advice.) This is

because…(First sentence with extra information.) Consider…(Second sentence
with extra information.) I also think that…(Second sentence with advice.) The
reason is because…(First sentence with extra information), and also… (Second

with advice.), etc, etc.

I understand your problem. First of all, you should wear casual clothes to keep you
comfortable. There are casual clothes that are fashionable and beautiful. Also, you
are free to choose how you want to dress. You shouldn't wear formal or elegant
clothes if you don't like it. Your boyfriend must accept the way you dress. But if it is
important that you consider how to dress according to the occasion. You could
wear comfortable clothes when you are at home or dress elegant when you have a
formal dinner with your boyfriend. For a formal dinner, it is important that you do
your hair and put on makeup, you will look beautiful. Formal wear is not ugly, but
you have to find formal clothes that you like and that you feel comfortable with.
Finally, you ought to pay more attention to your hairstyle. You will look more
beautiful if you have a hairstyle according to the occasion. Men are attracted to
women with stylish hairstyles.
