They are one of the best-known species of early humans.

Paleoanthropologists have discovered the


remains of more than 300 individuals that were identified to be Australopithecus Afarensis. This species
of early humans survive for more than 900,000 years. They basically have been around four times longer
than the species of modern humans. They were first found in Eastern Africa about 3.85 million years
ago.

They discovered the Australopithecus afarensis in 1974. The Australopithecus was formally named in
1978 following a ton of fossil discoveries at Hadar. The males were 4 ft 11 in (151cm) and weighed 92 lbs
(42 kg). the women were 3 ft 5 in (105 cm) and weighed 64 lbs (29 kg). the Australopithecus afarensis
ate food like soft, sugar-rich fruits. They found an Australopithecus afarensis skeleton in 1974 and
named her Lucy. the Australopithecus afarensis is an interesting predecessor to humans.
