The Bakunawa is a dragon like sea-serpent in Philippine mythology. The
Bakunawa has one big horn on his nose and has a looped tail that makes it look like a sea serpent. The Bakunawa is believed to cause of the earthquakes, eclipses, winds, and rains. The Bakunawa’s movements were served as a geomantic calendar to the Ancient Filipinos. The Bakunawa is also known to eat the moon that’s why the Filipinos would make very loud siunds to make the Bakunawa spit the Moon out but now it’s what you call a moon eclipse.
