“BAGUIO CITY”

Baguio was established as a hill station by the United States in 1900 at the site
of an Ibaloi village known as Kafagway. It was the United States' only hill station
in Asia. Baguio is classified as a highly urbanized city (HUC). Baguio, to many, is
best known as the "Summer Capital of the Philippines", with its cool climate
making this a spot to escape the chaotic scenes in Manila. The city is also home
to tropical pine forests, lending the city the nickname "City of Pines”.

Panagbenga is an annual flower festival celebrated every February which


takes place in Baguio City, Philippines. The term “Panagbenga” comes
from a Kankanaey term meaning “season of blooming”. This festival
reflects the history, traditions and values of Baguio and the Cordilleras.

Strawberry Taho. As Baguio makes the most out of their most


popular produce, Strawberry Taho is simply to die for. Among other
delicacies, it is one of the most, if not the most, sought-after delicacy
in the city.

“ILOCOS “
Ilocos Sur was founded by the Spanish conquistador Juan de Salcedo
in 1572. It was formed when the north (now Ilocos Norte) split from
the south (Ilocos Sur). At that time it included parts of Abra and the
upper half of present-day La Unión. Ilocos Sur is best known for the
Heritage City of Vigan, recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Meanwhile, Ilocos Norte is known for its Bangui Windmills Farm, the
Boracay of the North called Pagudpud, and thrilling 4x4 tours along
its sand dunes.

Pamulinawen festival, came


from the name of a woman made
popular in the popular Ilocano
folk song Pamulinawen. The
festival is celebrated in the city
of Laoag, Ilocos Norte to
promote camaraderie and
sportsmanship.
Bagnet (Northern Ilocano and Tagalog
pronunciation: [bɐgˈnɛt], Southern Ilocano
pronunciation: [bɐgˈnɯt]), locally also
known as "chicharon" in Ilocano, is a
Filipino dish consisting of pork belly
(liempo) boiled and deep fried until it is crispy. It is seasoned with garlic,
black peppercorns, bay leaves, and salt.

“LA UNION”

LA Union, which translates to "The Union", was formed in 1850 by merging towns from
the neighboring Provinces of Ilocos Sur, Pangasinan, and Benguet. It is a province with
rich history that is known for its ancient churches and pilgrimage sites. La Union is also known
as the Garden Coast of the Philippines thanks to its beautiful botanical gardens
Baggak is a word in the mother tongue which means morning star. It refe.rs to “a new day”, in other words a
celebration of hope for a better future for the people of Bauang.Baggak Festival celebrates the founding of
the town of Bauang in La Union, Philippines every January 5. Activities are scheduled for three weeks which
start as early as the 16th of December all the way to the first week in the succeeding year. January 5 (or the
day after) is at times declared as a special non-working holiday.

KILAWIN ISDA,This delicacy is made up of fresh tuna chilled in vinegar


and lemon or calamansi until it is cooked by the vinegar or juices. Kilawin
is best enjoyed when the fish is fresh and with ice-cold bottles of beer.
“BICOL”

The Bicolanos are descended from the Austronesian-speaking immigrants who


came from Southern China during the Iron Age. Many of Bicolanos also have
Chinese, Arab, and Spanish admixtures. Most of the townsfolk have Spanish
Mixtures and their language is referred to as Bikol or Bikolano.
Tinagba Festival commemorates the pre-Hispanic thanksgiving ritual performed
by Bicolano ancestors who offer a portion of their harvest to the gods. It is an
annual cultural celebration held in the city of Iriga, Camarines Sur, Philippines
every February 11, which also coincides with the feast of Our Lady of Lourdes.

Bicol Express, known natively in Bikol as sinilihan, is a popular Filipino


dish which was popularized in the district of Malate, Manila but made in
traditional Bicolano style.

“PALAWAN”

The history of Palawan dates back some 22,000 to 24,000 years to about the
time when the Tabon Cavemen existed in Quezon, Palawan. A Tibia Bone of
a man and a skull cap of a woman unearthed in 1962, which carbon dated to
be 47,000 and 16,000 years old respectively.
The Baragatan sa Palawan Festival, the grandest cultural event in the
province, concluded its second successful celebration since the pandemic hit,
with an array of vibrant activities showcasing the rich heritage as well as the
competitive spirit of the Palaweños.
