The Corporate Social Responsibility of Google focuses more on the youth with their main focuses of
CSR:
 Google China Social Innovation Cup for College Students, is a nationwide competion to
empower the youth of china to become agents of social change. Students bring ideas and proposals
in hopes to instill the future of China in the values of social responsibility community welfare and
self-empowerment.
 Supporting Earthquake Relief, Google develop a communication platform, a platform where it
searches for families who are looking for their lost relatives. Google also develop a platform where
it can access to see the areas that had been hit.
 Google Grants, an in-kind donation program awarding free Adwords advertising to select
charitable organizations.
 Google Green, the goal of this is to use 100% renewable power to help power the world with clean
energy. Google has purchased over 2.2 gigawatts of renewable energy which is equivalent to 1
million cars making Google, the largest non-utility purchaser of renewable energy in the world.

 Google’s “Communicating Sustainably” program keeps 5,700 cars out of the road.
 Google invested more than USD 1.5 billion in renewable enrgy projects such as large-scale wind
and rooftop solar panels.
 Google reduced potable litres of water used per employee by 30%.
 Google diverted 84% of waste from its global data centre operations away from landfill.
 Google is increasing the range of its operations in cloud, a platform that is carbon neutral with
positive environmental implications.

 Users, according to Google’s business philosophy, users are the top priority in their CSR. Every
product is developed with the users’ needs in mind.
 Employees, can be addressed through competitive compensation and fun workplace design. It
includes high salaries, incentives and benefits, such as free meals and flexible schedules, and fun
workplaces.
 Communities, may benefit through the charity programs which Google has provided more than
$100 million in grants and investments. Google’s CSR aims to address climate change, global
public health and global poverty.
