 Primary irritant effect:
Skin: Corrosive effect on skin and mucous membranes.
Irritant to skin and mucous membranes.
Eye: Strong corrosive effect
Irritating effect.
 Sensitization: No sensitizing effects known.
b) Sub acute to chronic toxicity:
Nitric acid causes burns on contact. Eye contact may cause blindness. Vapours are irritating and cause upper respiratory
irritation, which may be severe. Corrosive to the teeth and digestive tract when ingested. Dilute solutions have reduced effects.
Cadmium compounds are highly toxic and experimental carcinogens.
Exposure to cadmium affects the respiratory tract, kidneys and liver.
Ingestion of cadmium and its compounds may cause nausea, salivation, vomiting and diarrhea. Inhalation or ingestion of
cadmium compounds may be fatal.

c) Additional toxicological information:

Swallowing will lead to a strong corrosive effect on the mouth and throat and to the danger of perforation of esophagus
and stomach.
To the best of our knowledge the acute and chronic toxicity of this substance is not fully known.
EPA-B1: Probable human carcinogen, limited evidence of carcinogenicity from epidemiologic studies.
