The Lion King is one of the most successful films ever produced, gathering a

staggering 8/10 rating by the Internet Movie Database, a considerable achievement for a

family drama film. The film was widely accepted and enjoyed by the young and the old,

contributing to the film’s success. The soundtracks, vocals, and tunes used in the film are one

reason the film has enjoyed massive success by enhancing the film's quality on the film,

which is based on a beautiful and perfectly flowing narrative. The directors of the film were

very strategic in choosing the soundtracks and the creators of the soundtrack. They chose

Beyonce, a popular artist enjoying a massive following worldwide, to do the soundtrack of

the film.

The soundtrack in the film sets the mood in the film. The film starts with the Circle of

Life, vocals that set the temper of the film. Simba, the Lion King Mufasa's son, the future

King, is presented before the jungle. Simba is held up in the air, and all the animals in the

jungle bow to him. The song playing in the film is in perfect harmony with this scene, and it

brings out the topic of The Lion King demonstrated by the respect gathered by the animals in

the jungle to the current and future King (Cruz, Oliveira, Esmerado & Alturas, 2018). The

song lines such as “Till we find our topographic point on the way unwinding in the circle, the

circle of life….” This line of vocals gives a message to the audience about the upcoming

scenes in the film and is also a lesson to the audience that being born in a family of

accomplishment with rubric and places is one thing, but it presents an entirely different

challenge for a person to find a topographic point in the world.

“I just can’t wait to be king,” is a melody that speaks volumes of how a young and

immature prince Simba is looking forward to taking the mantle of The Lion King (Noad &

Barton, 2020). The young prince has enjoyed a beautiful childhood growing up in a loyal

family and pampered by his parents. He looks up to his dad, King Mufasa, and finds a good

role model, and he is eager to take King's mantle after his dad. The music used in the film

does wonders in sending the message to the audience and creating the mood. For instance,

when the film's mood is happy, the directors use a lively tune, and this changes when the

circumstances of the film change.
