Reaction Paper: The Rise of ISIS

The rise of ISIS shocked the whole world in 2012. ISIS is one of the biggest terrorist
group around the world, ISIS is known for killing dozens of people at a time and carrying out
public executions, crucifixions and other acts and also responsible in the bombings that
would eventually cause the fall of Syria. This “rise of ISIS” was made worse by Iraq’s former
Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki when he built a Shia-dominated sectarian state and refused to
take steps to accommodate Sunnis.
The US government “ended” their connection because the war has ended. The US
soldiers had left Iraq because the Iraqi officials said that they can handle the fight and can
stand on their own feet, former President Obama said the new democratic Iraq was self-
governing, has inclusive and has potential. But after that, the ISIS began reestablishing itself
again and takes superiority in Syria. Protestors started as police starts arresting body guards
of the vice president and the innocent, and it’s the violation of their dignity and considered
inhumane, as some of them were in detention for many years without trials. And the
“revolution of the tribes” began which then led to the fall of Syria. The al-Qaeda gained
power from donations and started to gain territory from robbing banks and running extortion
rackets that could eventually dominate nearby countries or states and bring reinforcements on
the Syrian Border. The ISIS aims to create an Islamic state called a caliphate
across Iraq, Syria and beyond and had destroyed the border between Syria and Iraq.
The rise and terrorism of ISIS is a one shocking and horrific event in the history of the
world because of the mass killings, the execution and the bombings, it is surely a page in
history that none of us can forget, and we all hope that the US government can possibly
eliminate the group once and for all based on collection of intelligence like counter-terrorism
in order to sustain and provide a better and improved life on the affected country that would
later affect the world.
Reaction Paper: The Corporation

In the film, the corporation means “business or a company”. Every corporation has a
sole purpose, and it is to provide profits and value to its shareholders and partners while
growing. In the movie there is a law regarding growth strategy that every corporation should
follow and practice. The movie presents the realities of the corporation that are absent in the
representation of social media. The documentary also shows some of the negative aspects of
business corporations.
Companies happen to take advantage of their laborers by giving them a below
minimum salary and tend to exploit cheap labors and it is one of the problems or themes of
the documentation. Another problem is that the damage on the environment because of large
business corporations. Large corporations often neglect to address the negative effect on the
environment. Many corporations tend to dump toxic waste onto river and streams that will
eventually spread onto the different bodies of water that will affect the creatures living in it
and then, us humans. The next is the issue about the Monsanto Corporation about bribing
people to keep their mouth shut about the possible effects of the hormone injection they
introduced into the market, the said injection was proven to be unsafe for both animals and
humans during its testing stage. Many countries had banned the said injection like in Canada
and other European countries, and only in the United States that the injection was sold in the
markets and has caused sufferings of animals, and the worst part is that the FOX news
refused to broadcast the investigative story about the company because of the fear of loss in
advertisement revenue, and it clearly shows a violation of the code of ethics.
This documentation is a work of excellence because this shows the reality behind the
big names in the field of business and corporations. And an eye-opener for the audience that
consumers need to be conscious and cautious when choosing a product or using a service
from corporations.
