“Thanks to technological advances, the world is getting smaller every day.”

Nowadays everything is easily accessible. Thanks to the incessantly developing digital technology all
people around the world are able to keep up with today’s worldwide news, fashion, trends and etc.
With the establishment of the phenomena called social media people are now closer than ever and
can communicate from all over the world or even find new friendships from huge distances. So in
fact does the digital technology make the world a small place for humanity?

Since the Bronze Age people have been starting to travel all over the world to inhabit new places as it
took them years to get there. While we have been progressing as a human race we have found easier
and easier ways to transport. Firstly by foot; later on we started to ride horses and eventually we
invented the motor engine which gave humanity access to every point of the world. In the twentieth
century, when the biggest technological enhances occurred, airplanes, trains, cars and all other
transport has become accessible and affordable for any person. However, it is not until the 1990 and
the begging of the 2000 when the world actually became more and more little to the human race.

The invention of the internet started a revolution, a new era in human history. Today we no longer
have to go to the library to search for information. Everything we need is in our computer or
smartphone. We can book flights, buy train tickets or call a taxi by our phone. On top of that, in the
internet are created whole virtual models of the whole world and now we can go anywhere we want
digitally. Thanks to apps like Google Earth we can see every place on Earth.

In conclusion, the world is progressing really fast. With a glance of an eye we can find or go anywhere
we want.
