Presentation through Microsoft PowerPoint-Hyperlink

Background Information for Learners

Presenting is not a new task. More often, you are asked to report on a certain topic in a
subject area. The first question that might pop up in your head is, how am I going to do this?
What will I use? You might be thinking of writing everything on a spread of Manila paper! -
That idea is already obsolete, take it to the next level. Microsoft PowerPoint is the right choice
to take.

Key Concepts:
Microsoft PowerPoint is a presentation program, created by Robert Gaskins and Dennis
Austin at a software company named Forethought, Inc. It was released on April 20, 1987,
initially for Macintosh computers only. Microsoft acquired PowerPoint for $14 million three
months after it appeared. (Wikipedia)

Hyperlink
A hyperlink is a word, phrase, or image that you can click on to jump to a new document
or a new section within the current document. Hyperlinks in PowerPoint are similar to links
you might have seen on a web site. They allow you to jump back and forth between specific
slides in your presentation.

How to create hyperlink

Step by step process in using hyperlink in Power Point Presentation. Hyperlinking can be
done in text, images, shape etc. Linking a file can either be inside the document or outside the
document.
1. Create a new document in Power Point presentation
2. Type text in the text box then highlight the text.

3. Right click on the highlighted text the select hyperlink

4. Hyperlinking (1) a file outside the document

 5. Hyperlinking (1) inside the document

6. The file text should turn into blue.

7. Click the present button then try the link if it works!

Activity 1: Own power point
Direction:
1. You need a computer to perform this activity.
2. Open a new document in Power Point. Use the default slides.
3. Your task is to create a multiple-choice test with 3 choices that need to be
hyperlinked.
4. Type this question in the top text box: “ICT Means Information and Communications
_______________.
5. Create additional two text boxes to accommodate the 3 choices. Move the boxes to
your desired places in the slides.
6. Type the given choices in the box. 1 box per choice:
a. Technology b. Technician c. Techy

7. Create a second then type Correct

8. Create a third slide the type Incorrect
9. Link the correct slide to the correct answer then the incorrect slide to the incorrect
answers.
10. Send the file to the teacher via Facebook messenger.
