Teaching Philosophy

My teaching philosophy stems from my student career.

It is my goal in my teaching career to create not only a
welcoming learning environment but also a second
home.

I have decided the way to create a positive learning

and home environment for students is through comfort

MARLEY and artwork. My room will always have a calming smell

using wall plug scents. When you walk into a room that
has a comforting smell it can really make a difference. I

VIGIL will also allow/provide awards like warm drinks and

coffee shop food on critique days to celebrate new
work. Students will be given assignments that both
meet state standards but allow them to express
themselves and vent into artwork. Most importantly I
will always be an open ear to my students. Sometimes
venting to a third party can make all the difference. My
goal is make my art studio a home away from home.
