Introduction:
Water is the source of life. It covers 70% of the Earth. But only a small portion of this
precious natural resource is fit for human consumption. Out of the earth’s total water, 97% is stored
in oceans which are not fit for human consumption. The further 3% is stored in various sources like
rivers, lakes, and under-ground aquifers. India is a blessed country when water sources come into
question which is available in the form of numerous rivers and lakes. It has 14 major, 55 minor and
numerous small rivers. India is often referred as the “Land of Rivers”. In fact riverbanks first hosted
human civilizations in India as elsewhere in the world. Rivers in India play important social and
economic roles. This is the reason why Indians worship rivers as goddesses. Our mythologies are
full of stories glorifying the rivers. Our current life is totally dependent on rivers. The river systems
provide irrigation, potable water, cheap transportation, electricity, as well as livelihoods for a large
number of people all over the country. Some important rivers of India are: Brahmaputra, Cauvery
(Kaveri), Chambal, Ganga (Ganges), Godavari, Gomati, Hindon, Indus, Jhelum, Kali, Krishna,
Narmada, Periyar Ravi, Sutlej, Yamuna.
In present days however automation plays on important role in all industry and commercial
applications, the proper disposal of common wastes is still a challenge faced nowadays.
As a solution to theses social relevant problems and as a solution to the health issues caused
thereby, we propose an automated mechanism, “Design of Water Waste Collector by Seabin". Our
proposed system is used to clean and control the suspended waste in drains eliminating the human
labour involved in doing so.
Problem Statement:
To find a solution for the problem of water logging due to plastic, thermocol, paper and
other floating debris etc. To treat problems like malaria, typhoid, etc. caused due to water
accumulation
Objectives:
 To design a simple system to collect floating water waste from water reservoir.
 To develop controller to automate the process of collection of water waste.
 To develop system to control overall process through digitalization.
 To develop system alternative cleaning and operational practices, and to reduce negative
impact from the society and to participate in SwachBharathAbhiyana.
Methodology:

Fig.1 Block Diagram of project

The devices are placed across channels so that only water flow through lower grids, especially
floating waste.
1. The gadget is place over the deplete so water course through lower grids, squander like
bottle, cloth wood papers etc. Flowing in deplete are restricted by teeth which is associated
with chain.
2. Floating waste like bottles, plastic cans, covers etc., are lifted by lifters which are connected
to the conveyor.
3. The whole mechanism is basically above the water channels, lakes and ponds etc only lifting
part goes inside the water .This again reduces the wear and tear of the setup.
4. The conveyor revolves with the sprocket wheel which is driven by a motor. When the motor
runs, the conveyor starts to circulate and it makes the lifter to move upwards. Floating waste
is lifted by lifters which are connected to the conveyor. The wastage material are lifted by
lifter teeth and stored in a collector bin.
5. The amount of waste getting collected into the collector bin will be sensed by ultrasonic
sensor and the percentage of waste will be displayed on LCD display.
6. Once the bin gets filled up to about 75% of waste then an alarm beeps and the motor stops
automatically.
7. Then operator can send the message to GSM through phone or PC to ON the motor until the
bin fills the waste up to 90% or the motor can be remain in OFF condition(i.eupto 75%), so
it depends on operator whether to ON or OFF the motor based the waste present in the water
channels.
8. If there is waste the operator can allow the motor to run ,if not the operator can even stop the
motor by sending the message to GSM at different level (percentage) of filling the bin like
20%,40%, 65%..... etc, depending on waste present in water this helps to save the power
supply.
9. Once the motor stops the GSM model sends the message to the operator indicating that the
bin is to be emptied.
10. Once the bin is emptied manually, then the operator sends the message to GSM model
through mobile or PC as when required, so the motor again starts and process repeats.

concern personal.
Result and Conclusion:
The Project is simulated successfully in virtual pond and results obtained are satisfactorily.
The bin is designed to collect floating wastearound 5kg of maximum capacity. The bin collection
report in % will be forwarded to concern operator/ personal. We have designed system which can
be start/stop process depending upon the requirement and provided additional safety to system by
auto cut off if bin is 70% filled.
Conclusion:
The project design of river water cleaning machine is fabricated on the basis of literature
and research on different journal and paper relevantly available and fabricated in accordance so it
can provide flexibility in operation.. This project “Design of Water Waste Collector by Seabin” is
designed with the hope that it is very much economical and helpful to river and Pond cleaning.

Future Scope:
As the project has been based on the baseline to make integration of the benefits for human
health, societal concerns and national cleanliness policy. Therefore it covers much section of
proportionate benefits to the all sphere of our present life. Explaining all the present benefits in
respective category:

Academics :
 Water Cleaning System is basically a agglomeration of the basic mechanical components
that we have gone through regressively during out past four year of curriculum.
 All the basic components that majorly consist of the Chain drives, Bearings, Welding,
Turbine etc.,
 Components are finely integrated to build to structurally simple project.
 Moreover the last add on the project to give and edge effect harnessing of the flow energy of
the drain gives the project the much needed future scope of exploitation of the renewable
resource.
Society :
 In a modern society where luxury has become a necessity in the urban and rural hub, there
lies a section of the population who still lives on meager just enough to satisfy its hand to
mouth needs.
 Sanitations is one of the very basic amenities required for the basic living of a man and
providing with such a technological and economical instrument which can change the
pathetic sewerage condition of the town and cities of mediocre India.
 With such a potential instrument of employment generation in the society through industry
co- operation, this product and you in the win-situation for the people.
Further Implementations :
 The proposed project can extend the project by adding solar power etc.
 It can also extend the project by adding one suppression motor to suppress the dust particles
in the storage collector bin also increase the storage tank size for more particles to store
which are collected from the water.
