VIII. Rationale

The existence and use of technology in the teaching- learning process is inevitable. It
enhances the method in order to develop 21st century skills among learners. Part of this are
the different innovative applications which are timely and relevant to the needs of the
teachers. With this, the proponents tapped information and communication technology
experts from the Division of Cavite Province to share their expertise pertinent to some of
these applications.

In addition, the school also recognizes the benefits of the Plans and Programs of
Activities (PPA) launched by DepEd Cavite. Undoubtedly, it is centered on the students with
the end in mind of addressing their needs. One of these programs is the I-LIKHA which
promotes the creation of localized and contextualized learning materials.

The In-Service Training (INSET) was also crafted to develop the skills of the teachers
in Module Making, aligned with the concept of I-LIKHA. Particularly, it seeks to integrate
technology through e-module from each department at the end of the training.

Moreover, teachers are also expected to execute lessons through varied teaching
approaches. Aligned with this principle is the utilization of the 2C2IR Approach set forth by
DepEd CALABARZON. The proponents believe that it is timely to review these approaches
in order to anchor these in the use of technology.

Lastly, it is also part of teachers’ duty to be assigned in different curricular and co-
curricular tasks like documenters of trainings, events, or even programs. Utilizing technology
will make the task easier.

Indeed, the In-Service Training aims to empower teachers through technology.

Timely, relevant, and responsive not just within the locality, but also in the global demand.
