Misogyny in India – Reality or Hush-Hush?

Women had been hated since a long time in our nation and had been always used as an object. They’d been ill-treated by
the society since ages. They’d been hated for a long time and hence, misogyny do exist in India.

Women, if let free like men were considered to bring shame for the family. They were always considered inferior to men.
Even being a victim of crimes like rape, she never had justice. Instead, was considered a stain to the family. Years back, a
13 year old girl was raped and after months, she got pregnant. So she was married to her rapist because no one would
marry such girl.

Also, the sex ratio of India always had been disturbing because many a times, a daughter was aborted in the womb. She
was considered to be a burden because of the expenses to be incurred from her up-bringing to the marriage with heavy
dowry. Even though abortion is said to be illegal today, many states in India has poor sex ratio like Daman and Diu.

Though a lot had been done for equality amongst women, they’re still hated by the society. Many people still consider
them to be a stain in the family. Government should take more pain to eradicate such behaviour. Such changes may take
time, but a start to this is necessary. Because treatment of such an evil root wil lead to sure rise in the economy of our
country.
