REMOVAL OF ARTICLE 370 A

Article 370 A which gives a special status to Jammu And Kashmir and thus making it autonomous. The whole history
for this is when Maharaja Hari Singh did not wanted to merge J&K with India or Pakistan. But Pakistan once attacked
J&K, of which Maharaja took help from Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. Both of them agreed upon merging J&K with India.
But with this, J&K were given special rights and a special status of forming its own laws other than for rest of the
states.

On 5th August 2019, the government of India abdicated the special status given under Article 370 A, which created a
lot of dispute among the nation. I favour this action because there were many cons attached to this article. Some of
being prosecution of people of other stated doing business there, ill-treatment of our army by throwing pebbles at
them, rise in corruption, politics being run in the name of religion and many more. Also, medical facilities lacked in
the state due to less private hospitals and poorly maintained government hospitals. It also gave rise to terrorism
due to less employment opportunities. This also resulted in the poor GDP.

Due to so much cons, I do support the removal of such act as it is harbinger of many opportunities the state never
enjoyed before. This will also improvise the economy and will benefit everyone.
