- The central theme of the film; it is social discrimination and socio-cultural and economic

difficulties that make it impossible for immigrants to integrate into American society.

2- Through the central axis of the film, a “fan” of problems is developed:

• Racism: an example of this act may be the one played by the actress Sandra Bullock in the
scene where, still shocked by the robbery that she had to star in, she begins to discriminate and
let herself be carried away by common sense and discrimination and argues with her husband
disrespecting the locksmith present there, who after listening to what was said and having
finished his work, left hurt and indignant.

• Xenophobia: a case of xenophobia, it is the case, also embodied by Sandra Bullock, where she
shows a degree of distrust and fear when seeing, before being assaulted, the two thieves, and for
the mere fact that they were from color generates distrust.

• Machismo: an example of machismo in “Crash” is that of the policeman and the black woman,
the producer's wife, when he takes advantage of her, believing himself superior because he is a
man, and even more so because he is white.

• Estate discrimination: this type of discrimination occurs in the scene when one of the thieves
enters the producer's truck (without knowing that the producer was colored like him); When he
enters to steal and finds himself in this situation, the owner of the truck starts a fight
discriminating against him, and comparing him, for being like he was.

3- We believe that the film is called "Crash" because it focuses on culture clashes. In Los
Angeles, the only way that people can be linked is through a casual clash, because in that city a
high degree of individualism is manifested. For this reason, the film begins with a car crash, the
development constantly shows friction or conflicts between races, religions and social classes,
and ends in the same way it begins.

4- There are no main characters, since the proposal of the direct of the film is based on the taking
or selection of a segment of society to analyze it, and uses to reflect this problem of
discrimination-exclusion, several totally unknown people among yes, but they are linked in one
way or another.

5- The character with whom we had the most affinity was with the "blond policeman", because
he showed attitudes in different situations, morally acceptable to us, for example when he
showed consideration for the partner abused by his coworker, although he could not reveal
himself Before him, he knew that what his partner was doing was not the right thing to do and he
did not support him at any time. Another behavior to highlight is the occasion in which when he
met by chance with the producer abused and discriminated against by his former partner, he
defends him and lets him go free without making a problem since he felt that, although he had
not done anything, he was in Debt for previous behavior on the part of your partner.

6- The character we liked the least was the policeman who had unpleasant attitudes towards
people of color. He surpassed the power he had just by feeling superior in wearing a uniform.
We found it extremely outrageous to see this type of action by a person who, supposedly, is the
one who should protect society. We rescue if the act of good that he did when he saved the
woman whom he had previously disrespected.

7- The story that most impacted us was that of Sandra Bullock, since throughout the film she
mistreats her housekeeper, she being the one who accompanied her all the time.

The story of this same character with the locksmith and the degradation he has to go through also
caused a great impact on us.

8- Among the institutions shown in the film are:

• The state.

• Police.

• Hospital.

• The family.

The State: corrupt, ambitious and manipulative. Seek to be accepted by society regardless of the
consequences.

The police: ambitious for power and sometimes linked to corruption.

The hospital: at the service of the community. There are no discriminatory acts.

The family: there is no defined stereotype of the family, diverse socioeconomic, political, and
religious realities are shown.
