1. Based on the answers you have above, what do you mean by the
term professional?

Professional pertains to someone who displays high levels of


expertise and efficiency. It means being able to work or practice a
certain profession or job with mastery, competency, and reliability.

2. How do you feel upon knowing your perspective of a


professional?

Upon knowing my perspective of a professional I felt somehow


much eager to appreciate those who had and are still practicing the
teaching profession. It is not easy to become one, and passing the
licensure exam does not guarantee a spot. One has to attend trainings
and be adept with skills and knowledge. Furthermore, one must also be
able to possess ethical skills and be able to exercise the codes of
conduct in order to become a professional.
3. Do you consider a teacher as a professional? Why?

Yes, of course. It is a truth universally acknowledged that


teaching is the mother of all professions. Before a certain someone
becomes a teacher, he or she needs to undergo trainings, seminars,
and take the licensure exam to be acknowledged and to be able to
become qualified in order to practice the field. It is a hard-earned job
and is a paid one, which makes a teacher be a deemed a professional.

a. What is the role of a professional teacher in nation building?

The role of a professional teacher in national building is to mold


the citizens of the nation. With the teacher supplying citizens the
knowledge needed for individual and societal development, the nation
as well as the society will surely become prosperous. The professional
teacher is one gives marks and ratings to students. He or she
recognize children on the basis of their intellectual and often social
skills in preparation for the social and occupational roles which they will
eventually play. The professional teacher is a representative of the
society who inculcates moral precepts. A teacher has a multi-faceted
role comprising academic, pedagogical, and social roles. In the
development of a nation, great attention has to be paid to education
and learning, as well as good morals, and nobody is more suited to
assist in this process than the professional teacher.

b. What is a “professional” as stipulated in PD 1006, RA 7836 and


RA 9293?

Professional as stipulated in Presidential Decree 1006, RA


7836, and RA 9293 means being able to pass and acquire a license in
order to practice the teaching field. It pertains to an individual who is
publicly recognized with a profession who met the alleged criteria
assigned to the given field for example teaching. It is a term meant to
strengthen the educational system in the country by recognizing the
vital roles of a teacher in building the nation.
c. What is the primary reason for regulating teaching as a profession
and teachers as professional?

Teaching has been recognized as a profession, and teachers as


professionals because teaching and the quality, competence, and
character of teachers are few of the most significant factors influencing
the quality of education. With the teachers and teaching being
empowered and strengthened, we will grow to become knowledgeable
people who will be of use to society, religion and our nation and
country.

b. Today I learned that teaching and being a teacher is not an easy task
and job. One needs to acquire a license to be able to practice the
profession. With education being empowered and strengthened by the
nation for development of its citizens and the nation as a whole, it is
vital for teachers to be strengthened and empowered also, which is
why various republic acts have been amended and implemented in
order to ensure the quality of education which is greatly influenced by
the teachers and the teaching profession.
