FORMAT OF ASSIGNMENT

For BS/ MSc Biotechnology

1. Title page

The title page of the assignment will include:

i. Title of Assignment done


ii. Name of the Student , Student ID, and session
iii. Course title & course code
iv. Submission date of Assignment
v. Name of the Institute attended
vi. Course instructor name
vii. UCP logo

2. Table of contents

List the important headings and sub headings in the report with their respective page numbers as
given here
3. List of tables

List the titles of tables along with their numbers, as included in Assignment.

4. List of figures

List the titles of Figures along with their numbers, as included in Assignment.

5. Summary (1 page)

Summary previews every section of the report in a short form. It helps the reader to get a quick
glance at the Assignment before reading it in detail. Everything important point that you have
performed, discovered and concluded should be mentioned but briefly and concisely.

6. Introduction (minimum word limit: 2-3 pages)
i. Short Introduction to the topic
ii. Introduction to the topic covering its background in view of past literature.
iii. Literature should be properly cited.
iv. Detailed description of the Assignment assigned to you.

7. Explanation with different headings (minimum word limit: 3-5 pages)


i. Detailed description of the experiments/activities performed by student.
ii. Detailed description of the tasks assigned to you.
iii. Literature should be properly cited.
8. Examples (minimum word limit: 2-5 pages)
i: Description of e.g should be given.
ii: Literature should be properly cited.
9. Conclusion (minimum limit: 1 page)

Briefly conclude the aspects given in assignment

Note: Assignment are NOT expected to be copied from anywhere, the student must provide
information in these sections based on his/her personal observation, learning and experience.
Cheating or copying in these sections is NOT acceptable and hence the entire Assignment can be
completely rejected as per ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY.

13. References (in APA format)

In this section, provide all the references and sources in APA format that you have used for data
collection in your assignment

 Remember, each part is essential, therefore, DO NOT skip any part as every part is
included in evaluation criteria.
 There should be harmony among the ideas that you describe in the Methods, and
Conclusions.
 Assignment should be submitted within the due date.
 Submissions made after due date shall not be considered.
 Students are required to upload their Assignment on teams (mail to the instructor as
instruction given) and of the course against the relevant assignment. Hard copy must
