    Malta general voting statistics for the general election

    The voting age for all Maltese citizens is 16 years old.


    In 2015 16-year-old were allowed to vote in the ‘Local council elections’ and in 2018 their
    right was extended to being able to vote in ‘all elections/referenda in the nation’.

    In elections, 16-18-year-old are able to vote to be voted for but are unable to take the role of
    mayor before the age of 18.
