In the light of the moon a little

egg lay on a leaf.

月光下，一颗小小的蛋躺在叶子上。
 

One Sunday morning the warm sun came

up and-pop!-out of the egg came a tiny
and very hungry caterpillar.
星期天早上，暖和的太阳升起来了。
“啵”一声，一条又小又饿的毛毛虫，
从蛋里爬了出来。
 He started to look for some food.
On Monday he ate through one apple.
But he was still hungry.
它要去找一些东西来吃。

 On Tuesday he ate through two pears,

piece of chocolate cake, one ice-cream

one sausage,
一根棒棒糖，一块樱桃派，一条香肠，
 一个纸杯蛋糕和一片西瓜。那天晚上，
毛毛虫的肚子好痛！

 
one cupcake, and one slice of watermelon.
That night he had a stomachache!

毛毛虫变成一只漂亮的蝴蝶！
 The next day was Sunday again.
The caterpillar ate through one nice
green leaf, and after that he felt
much better. 第二天，又是星期天了。毛毛虫吃了一片又嫩

 
又绿的叶子，觉得舒服多了。

Now he wasn't hungry any more--and

he wasn't a little caterpillar any more.
He was a big, fat caterpillar.
现在，毛毛虫不觉得肚子饿了。它不再是一条
小毛毛虫了。它是一条又肥又大的毛毛虫。
 它造了一间小房子，
叫做“茧”，把自己
包在里面。它在里面
住了两个多星期，
然后，把茧咬破一个
洞，钻了出来...

He built a small house, called a cocoon,

around himself. He stayed inside for

 
more than two weeks. Then he
nibbled a hole in the cocoon,
pushed his way out and....
