 Analytical chemistry is the study of methods for
determining the composition of substances both
qualitatively and quantitatively (characterization of
matter).
 Qualitative Analysis: is the identification of one or
more chemical species present in a given sample.
 Quantitative Analysis: is the determination of the
exact amount of a chemical species present in a
given sample.
