Introduction

In this report we will go through various aspects of Logistics in the Global Context and how
7Rs are taken care-off. Fast Food is the term given to food but that can be prepared and
served very quickly. Whereas when any meal takes low preparation time that is considered to
be fast food. The fast food market is the growing market in India. The average expenditure of
an average Indian consumer has increased by 100% since last decade. The reason to choose
KFC is lying in the fact that people who love non-veg must have visited KFC once in their
lifetime. KFC also known as Kentucky Fried Chicken, is a chain of fast food restaurants
based in Louisville, Kentucky. KFC is a brand and operating segment, called a “Concept” of
Yum! Brands since 1997 when that company was spun off from PepsiCo as Tricon Global
Restaurants Inc. The restaurants are known as Poulet Frit Kentucky or PFK.

KFC's original product is pressure-fried chicken pieces, seasoned with Sanders' recipe of 11
herbs and spices. The constituents of the recipe are a trade secret. Larger portions of fried
chicken are served in a cardboard "bucket", which has become a feature of the chain since it
was first introduced by franchisee Pete Harman in 1957. Since the early-1990s, KFC has
expanded its menu to offer other chicken products such as chicken fillet sandwiches and
wraps, as well as salads and side dishes such as French fries and coleslaw, desserts, and soft
drinks; the latter often supplied by PepsiCo. KFC is known for its slogans "It's Finger
Lickin' Good!", "Nobody does chicken like KFC", and "So good".

There are 350 KFC outlets in India. The company has adapted the standard KFC offerings to
Indian tastes and the menu options in India include the Hot & Crispy Chicken and Fiery
Grilled bucket options, Chicken Zinger, Krushers, Rice Bowlz and the more recently
launched 5-in-1 Meal Box. The business was refranchised in October 2015 after Yum
concluded a year-and-a-half-long exercise to reorganize its business under larger, well-
capitalized franchisees.
Right Product

Right Product is the first component of 7Rs of Logistics in which the firm should know what
are the products that they need to handle and transport. The right product which is in demand
and that can guarantee income. For getting the right product, the firm should get the right
information. Special packaging requirements can arise from the product’s bulk and its
fragility, it’s shelf life. Standardization of the product will help in packaging and
warehousing.

KFC on Right Product:

Product quality has always been the top priority from the supply of all raw materials. Also, to
keep a continuous check the annual supplier audit which is usually conducted by
International 3rd Party agencies. Audits which are carried out in the firm are usually guided by
the Food Scientists. This audit will ensure the quality packaging, distribution and

transportation.
Data given above speaks more about the nutrition they provide in their food. KFC assures the
food nutrition by assuring the balance of food according to human need. Right Product
should be there to make your final product finger-licking. The main ingredient is Chicken.

1. 100% Real-Chicken: -
 International Context: -
- KFC uses farm bred chicken to assure the quality of chicken. They mostly

Service and has received the Veterinary Health Mark. This company is
ISO 9001 certified. All Halal procedures are met and this is personally taken
care personal slaughters.
 Domestic Context: -

- To connect with people, they didn’t import the chicken but the major suppliers
are Godrej and Venky’s etc. to maintain the Standard Operating procedure for
the same.

2. Exotic Spices: -
Now again to cater to Indian audience the taste should be Indian and to solve the issue
KFC imports authentic spices from Kerala to give a typical taste to their chicken.

3. Alphonso and Cocoa: -

The alphonso and handpicked cocoa from Ghana are used for the tasty Summer Heat
beaters i.e. Krushers. Again, to maintain the quality of beverage the food authenticity
is assured.
4. Hydrogenated Palm Oil: -
Nutritional Information of KFC products are usually provided but also, to keep a
health check for the people the firm uses Hydrogenated Palm Oil which is 100%
