ABS-CBN TOTAL SHUT DOWN

Amnesty International helps ABS-CBN over Calida's move for the total shut down.

AI becomes one of the rights organization for the attempt of the government for the total

shutdown of ABS-CBN. Solicitor General Jose Calida cited that the ABS-CBN violated

some rules through its holding corporation.

At the senate, Minority Leader Franklin Drilon holds a hearing about the renewal of

the contract to ABS-CBN. “We have a duty and the franchise application is pending, and

there is a March 30 deadline. It is in the public interest that it should be acted upon”.

Drilon said in an interview in radio.

“If won’t be allowed to operate then so be it. But while this is pending,ABS-CBN’s

continued broadcast will always be questioned especially if it will continue to operate on

the basis of the provisional authority by the NTC, which could be withdrawn anytime”

Drilon said on an interview.

ABS-CBN has been accused of Mr. Duterte for not airing some of his political ads

while he was running for the position. “ I will see that you are out” Duterte warned.

As of now this case is still on going. ABS-CBN’s viewers and workers will definitely

be sad if the network would be totally shutdown.
