420 MPa. Is the steel percentage sufficient to ensure tensile behavior; that is, ε t ≥
0.005?
2) Determine the area of reinforcing steel required for the T beams shown if fc = 28
MPa and fy = 420 MPa. Check εt to see that it is ≥ 0.005.
