The syllabus and curriculum are known as two aspects of learning activities.
Contents The curriculum is a general statement about the teaching program while
Description the syllabus is about what actually happens in the classroom.
Syllabus is not the same with curriculum, it is smaller part of curriculum
that contain the description of what is going to be taugh, what goals are
going to be reach, what exercises have to be given, and what proficiency is
going to be gained.
Curriculum development is more comprehensive process than the syllabus
design. It is guided and designed by the government or the educational
institution.
A curriculum in a school context refers to the whole body of knowledge
that children acquire in school. This includes how they learn it, how
teachers help them to learn, using supporting materials, style and method
assessment.
In the context of ESL and EFL, curriculum development means a practical
activities which aims to improve the quality of language teaching through
the use of systematic planning, development, and review practices in all
aspects of language program.
Curriculum also need to be developed. The development here does’nt
mean that it has to be changed every year. But it has to be revised and
renewed to make it suitable with the students’ need.

Problem : The low ability is caused by the fact that the syllabus does’nt

Question : Why do we need to change the curriculum time to time?
Answer : Because in fact, we know that education is dynamic. Therefore,
there will always be change in the area of education that demands
innovation. Moreover, curriculum development will be adjust to students
need.
