Description Of Change: The improved front standard wheel group bearings are now available
on certain 793 Off-Highway Trucks. The improved bearings extend components life and reduce
the adverse effects of poor operating conditions.

Adaptable To: The following parts are adaptable to the machines within the listed serial
numbers.

Note: Wherever the bearings 290-3829 and 9W-7095 are used, these newer bearings 495-4171
and 495-4172 can be used as well. These bearings do come at premium cost, but can offer
better performance.

Monitor magnetic plugs at every 250 hours and Schedule Oil Sampling (SOS) at every 500
hours.

Certain 793 Off-Highway Trucks.Use Caterpillar Final Drive and Axle Oil (FDAO) or equivalent.
FDAO has an additive package with superior scuffing resistance to TO4 oil.

First Choice - Caterpillar FDAO or FDAO-SYN of the recommended viscosity grade.

Second Choice - Commercial oil of the recommended viscosity grade that meets the Caterpillar
FD-1 specifications.
